Submitting My Wordpress Sitemap to Google

I downloaded the XML Sitemap generator plug-in for my wordpress theme and installed it. I used the plug-in to generate the sitemap for the site which turned out to be located in mysite.com/sitemap.xml but when I submitted this to Google as my sitemap, it keeps saying I have these errors:

"We've detected that you submitted your Sitemap using a URL path that includes the www prefix (for instance, http://www.example.com/sitemap.xml). However, the URLs listed inside your Sitemap don't use the www prefix (for instance, http://example.com/myfile.htm)."

This confuses me since Google has you submit your sitemap after the http:// and www. prefixes to begin with. How do I properly submit my sitemap on Google's Webmaster Tools?

    In your Wordpress admin panel, go ==>>Settings ==>>General and add the www to the domain name. Then go to ==>>settinings ==>>Sitemap Plugin and rebuild the site map and the www will be in the urls.

    Change both your domain/blog url with the www, then it should work fine.

    A couple of suggestions...

    Create a folder called "sitemap", place the folder at /public_html and then change the "location of your sitemap file" in XML Sitemap Generator to:

    http://YOURDOMAIN.com/public_html/sitemap/sitemap.xml

    If your WordPress "General Settings" has the www or that's what you prefer then by all means use it!

    Now, just point Google's Webmaster Tools at the above URL and you're set

    One more piece of advice concerning the XML Sitemap Generator plug-in. I would recommend you rebuild your site map by posting new content verses a manual rebuild. I'm not clear on why, but we've seen periodic issues lately with manual rebuilds.
