No personally i dont believe in article submissions anymore. Instead i prefer tiered link building to keep safe main /money site from thousands from backlinks instead few quality links which pass good link juice to money site.

Article syndication is the process of which articles, columns, stories, photographs and other featured content is simultaneously distributed for publication on various websites. When it comes to today it's not a very good idea because all these type of websites will consider as duplicated content other than the original one, but I can see there are many websites still using it.

This is all completely wrong. First, you're confusing "duplicate content" and "syndicated content" (the differences between the two are hugely significant, and are briefly explained in this post and this little article), and secondly there are no penalties for it anyway, as Google keeps clarifying in every possible medium at every possible opportunity.

As in many other threads in this part of the forum in which article marketing is discussed, there's often some confusion between "article marketing" and "article directory marketing".

These days large and increasing numbers of Warriors are making our full-time livings through article syndication, which seems to go from strength to strength and produce floods of highly targeted traffic without anyone needing to use a search engine at all.

Article marketing has almost nothing to do with SEO at all.

If it helps anyone, these two posts between them explain the difference between article marketing and article directory marketing ...

And this is wrong as well, article syndication can help you in your SEO efforts if you distribute your content in networks that are interested in what you have to offer, if you define SEO as ways to get constant traffic without paying for it, it can help you a lot, plus the backlinks.

She said article marketing has almost nothing to do with SEO, which is true.
You're saying article syndication can help in your SEO efforts, which is true.

Article Marketing does not equal Article Syndication

Article syndication will give you significant SEO benefits, though they are a side affect, not the direct intention of syndication, when it is done properly.

They are a side effect when you are not in a high competitive niches, when you are in super competitive niches, article syndication gives you the SEO edge that backlinks cant and I explained in my previous post.

... which is why I supplied a link to a post that explains exactly that in some detail. Here it is again (see the last paragraph), since you apparently missed it the first time.

Not a definition of "SEO" I've encountered before! The first two letters of "SEO" actually stand for "Search Engine". SEO relates to things done to improve search engine rankings in the hope of attracting search engine traffic.

Not "plus" the backlinks: the backlinks are the SEO benefit, the point being that when you syndicate your content to relevant sites, you get context-relevant backlinks (though that's merely a side-benefit to the primary purpose, of course, which isn't related to SEO at all).

And here exactly is where we differ, the backlinks are the SEO benefit, but not just that, when you have 2 websits with the exact same content, with the exact same number of backlinks what defines which one is going to rank first?

Answer: the intereaction of the visitor to the site, the site that retains the most the visitors, that has a lower bounce rate is the site that will appear first, and that is exactly what I was trying to point out when you are fighting in a very competitive niches (millions of backlinks) what really makes the difference is how the visitors interact with your website, so if you syndicate your content on a set of sites that have a built in audience (or even better, you control a set of websites with a build in audience) beyond the backlinks you may get (that are always nice to have and help you on you SEO efforts) the most important thing is that you are targeting an audience interested in your content, THAT TO ME IS THE REAL SEO BENEFIT of article syndication, that is what gives you the competitive edge when everybody knows about the backlinks and they are trying to get them in any way they can.... how the backlinks you are creating area attracting people that stays longer in your site than in the rest for the same terms.

Alexa has, not surprisingly, provided all the information you need about article syndication. I just wanted to quickly address your question of, "Is it safe now?".

YES! And it ALWAYS has been. True article syndication has never been a problem, and never will be. It is, essentially, the sharing of high-quality information, which is one of the things that makes the Internet so great.

Let me give you an example...
If I am making a healthy recipe website, and I'm looking to add some information about cauliflower recipes. Would it make more sense for me to try to do research about this delicious vegetable, and write my own content, or use the content from a cauliflower expert such as Alexa Smith (the world's foremost expert on cauliflower).

Even if I write a high-quality article, it won't be as good for the readers as the one by Alexa, since she has studied this exciting subject all her life. It will, therefore, be better for my users to syndicate her article.

It will also be great for Alexa because her well written content will now be on my site as well, along with a link to her site where it was originally posted. (This link, by the way, benefits Alexa because MY visitors will now visit HER site. Any 'link juice' is just icing on the cake.)

If you're concerned about SEO and SERPs, syndication is good for both Alexa's and my site because the links are to related niches, and the content is excellent for my readers.

In addition, stop worrying about SEO and SERPs. Those will be the NATURAL byproduct of creating a high-quality, visitor focused website.

Well, that was supposed to be a quick reply. Sometimes I get carried away I guess.

    Anyway, hope that helps.

    Michael
