PPC with the Content Network, worth while?

Hello,
A while ago (over a year) I read about using the Content Network of Google for showing your PPC ads. The theory was the cost of click would be cheaper then getting the ad on Googles result page.
I am just wondering if this is still worth while, for ppc? Say for example you want to have your ad show for "weight loss" - but the min price would be $1 - if you search the top 10~ sites one might be using adsense so you can get your ad there.
Is this still worth while? Anyone had any good success?
