I have submitted my site on facebook ppc. I have about 400 impressions and no click through's

My ad looks like this

Create A consistent Golf Swing
Learn From The Top PGA Tour Pros
Golf Lessons For Free When You...

I feel like that ad should be doing better...

What can I do to improve this?

Personally, I never click the ads on Facebook. Just give it more time then report back.

Also, assuming that you targeted pages got to do with golf, there will be a large majority who don't actively play it.

You're part of the golf forums, right?

Consider buying solo ads in blogs that teaches people how to improve at golf.

Yeah I posted to forums but you cant have a link anywhere back to your site. I posted like 100 times and got thousands of views to my post and absolutely none to my site. Forums in this niche is a dud.

I have had success with adwords ppc back in 2009 but since then they have changed a ton about what site the ad goes to. Back then you could put a squeeze page and get traffic going to that page and quick.

Now, you have to have a full blown site, with articles that are super targeted to the ad and even then you will still get an average page score.

You might want to test out the campaign again as I have personally gotten some direct sales from Facebook ads before. If there is no CTR, you might want to edit your ad copy and target a bigger audience. Just my 2 cents.

Edit your ad copy and do some more testing, eventually you'll become expert at what you do.

Change up your ad copy to be more enticing. You also want to try to ad a call to action to the copy. Maybe try something like "Struggling With Your Golf Swing? Fix it With These Easy Tips. Click To Improve Your Game". Something like this should improve your CTR.

Also make sure your image grabs the eyes of Facebook viewers. A simple tip is to make sure your image does not have the color blue in it. Since blue is Facebook's main color, blue tends to get overlooked by people on Facebook.

Ok. I am going to split test my ad and add some different copy. My pic is of a golfer. What else can I do with the pic that is eye catching and related to golf?

I would test at least 5 variations of the ad and let it run for 24 hours. 400 impressions is absolutely nothing. If your CTR is below 0.2 I would kill the ad.

Also, make use of Facebooks hyper targeting possibilities. So for example, target people that like Tiger Woods and put an ad title like this:

    TIGER WOODS SUCKS..
    BEAT TIGER WOODS..

And combine it with the weirdest picture of Tiger Woods you could find.

Also, a common trick which is still accepted by Facebook is a red border around your picture. This draws attention since Facebook's color is blue.

There are some great resources online on how to build and optimize FB campaigns. Its not easy, but it is still a goldmine (especially for free CPA offers).

Sounds good. I am changing my ad and pic right now.

I thought you couldn't target that tightly. That sounds illegal. :/ Can I do that, I feel like my ad wouldn't get approved for that.

I haven't used CPA offers yet. I just PM'd you.

There is nothing illegal about targeting specific audiences. That's how you get the best response to your ads.

What picture are you using, because they will probably have a bigger impact on ctr than your copy.

As a business facebook is not doing well, they have so much traffic and users - but hey, the click through rate on ads in general is very low, people arnt on facebook to shop - they are there to talk to friends etc -
so just chill, and wait for more impressions you will get a few clicks -

nice thing is taht when people DO click from facebook they usually have a bit more conversion once they come to your site - because of the bigger effort it took to bring them there in the first place
