Hi Guys, I am planning to open a website and I could use some advice on SEO and what is the most efficient way to get good results? The time is very important, and I am sure as all of you know it takes a bit of time. I read a lot of articles, but I could use someone who knows on their own example.
Many Thanks,
Haley

SEO could only be short if your keywords have no competition.

It's not a good mindset to start thinking it's going to happen overnight.

Before you start a campaign like this you are suppose to have analyze the keywords and competition to know if you are capable of knocking out your competitor and also getting a rough idea of how long it will take to get on the top page.

A lot of times, the endeavor becomes a waste of time because of improper research.

What works is still the high quality links, diversification, original content and relevance.

    I hope this helps...

If you are new to this maybe look for lower hanging fruit. As other people have already said do your keyword research first. Look for areas where there is less competition. It will be easier to reach those markets fast.

This might mean less traffic overall but that traffic is more achievable. Get ranked for 5 of these keywords may bring in the same traffic as ranking for one higher ranking keyword.

This has the overall effect of helping you site as well as your domain will be relevant for several keywords. Do as johnben says

Though getting good Search Engine Result Position quickly is not an easy job, but you can follow the steps I follow:

    Very first step:
[1] Get Facebook like and google +1 vote for your site url (if possible for few pages also) by others
[2] Get few tweets and retweets about your web url by others
[3] Get few shares on linkedin and stumbleupon by others
... no need to ping those share urls.

    Second:
Post your web url on status.net

    Third,
Get 5 .edu backlinks, 5 .gov backlinks, few high PR social book marks and few wiki backlinks ... do it yourself

Get all the links you have managed to get in the THIRD step but don't index more than 50 to 100 links a day ( I do it first day 47, second day 35, third day 62 fourth day 87 ..... this way so that it looks natural)

    Now THE BIG GAME,
Get your top competitor website's SEO Analysis, and start doing duplicating that's backlinks, anchor texts etc and PUT SOME EXTRA to beat, as ordinary + extra = extra-ordinary which makes you winner.

    Hope it will help you.

Select and target your best keywords which lower competitive and higher searches. After that start On-Page and then Off-Page on your website. For more info, Read Google Webmaster Guidelines.

Do not build too much of anchor text oriented back links.
    Make your links look natural.
Have a blog for your website with guest posting enabled.

There is actually no way to do quick SEO. Ranking quickly in SERPs using automated methods or quick tactics won't maintain your site higher for long. Here are a few ways you should look into SEO.
Do a thourough keyword research and their competitions
      • First target on less competitive long tail keywords
      • Have good quality content in your site
      • If you're running a local business, perform local SEO, which involves a few number of processes
      • Create social media profiles
      • Engage with your audience
      • Measure your performance using tools like Google Analytics

Don't rest when you get into good position. SEO is a process which should not be stopped. Consider having complete website audit from time to time.

Unless you are an expert SEO can be slow and painful! What, with all of these animal updates from, The Big 'G' you could be shot down at any time. Your best bet is to offer original quality posts that entice visitors to comment. Add eye catching graphics and video. If you want an influx of visitors there are many ways. It can be as simple as asking people on Facebook that have oodles of followers in a similar niche to give you a mention. In my experience no SEO is the best SEO. Its Zoo proof if you get what I mean!

That's exactly what I was thinking. The truth is that just about anything worth having isn't cheap. In the world of SEO, time is money...and you can't even buy it WITH money anymore. You have to put in the time.

If you want "Search Engine Optimization", then just just pick some random gibberish like...

Cat wall hit by planet car
    Dude diamond sweet price cheap
etc and so forth forever more

And create a page for each, then throw a hand full of high PR backlings from facebook, youtube, etc etc and you will easily rank for those terms in a matter of days if not hours. That right there is awesome search engine optimization or in other words, optimizing crap for the search engines.

Now if you have a website and you want to get traffic fast, 3 simple ways to do it...

    1-Pay for it...
2-Work your butt off providing content that people want to read and share, then get it plastered all over the internet manually as promotional material(not backlinks)
3- Understand that proper SEO is not fast or simple and do either 1 and/or 2...

You will most definitely want to research research and research some more what keywords you are going to use. Try to focus your categories and titles based on your primary keywords. Also a great way to get your foot in the door with links is doing high Pr website directory submissions!

Here is my first bit of advise for anyone who has created a new website.

    Scout the competitions backlink profiles!
It is so simple. Google your chosen keywords, select the top few websites, and use a website or program to get a list of all their backlinks. (I use backlinkwatch as it is free, although only displays 1000 links).

Any link that they have, you can gain! If you are smart about it of course. This is the most "right now" method, because you can do it right now, you can start right now. All you need is the will to do it and the patience to browse through a few thousand links (Doesn't take long, I do a few hundred in an hour and then take a break).

    Hope that helps.

Content is the best element for achieving successful page rank with a website. Ensure that it is the written word because it makes it easy for algorithms to determine what the site and/or content is about.

    Opinion.

Is Google really after content? Is it possible that the latest Pengiun update might be Google's evil plan to disrupt the status quo and throw the SEO community as a profession into turmoil - forcing the market into PPC?

    Just a thought...

Get your top competitor website's SEO Analysis, and start doing duplicating that's backlinks, anchor texts etc and PUT SOME EXTRA to beat, as ordinary + extra = extra-ordinary which makes you winner.
It means, if I do exactly the same kind of backlinking + put something extra what my competitor site is doing, I will be able to beat them?
