Is it worth it to make a squeeze page using PPC?

I have 6 eBooks that I wrote. I give 2 away for free, and 4 of them I sell for $3.99 from my website. Considering that I don't currently get a lot of traffic right now, I'm considering making a squeeze page promoting one of my books.

I'm not sure if it's worth it though. I'm trying to figure out ways to get my website and books in front of people. Simply putting them into the Kindle store isn't enough.

I've never really dealt with "paid" traffic, and therefore I want to make sure that I don't waste my money.

What do you think?

Yes. That's a great way to start things off. Simply build a high converting squeeze page through multiple split testing to collect email leads first by offering your ebook as free. Then afterwards, you set emails in your autoresponder to get these leads to go to your sales page. This is a great way of making all your books known while not paying a lot for paid traffic. If you really want to use paid traffic, what I had do is, after I have built my squeeze page, I would focus on using paid traffic to get visitors to my site so that I had get more leads and most likely more sales.

    Thanks for the responses guys.

I'm a complete newb when it comes to this stuff...I always thought a squeeze page and a sales page were the same thing.

Is there like a step-by-step guide that explains in detail what you just explained Ethan? Or is this the type of thing that I would expect to find in the war room, which I plan on signing up for. I need like a "for dummies" guide!

    Thanks!

To me, it would make very little sense indeed to be paying for traffic and not sending it to some sort of page with some sort of opt-in on it (whether it's a squeeze page or not). Otherwise you're just going to lose virtually all the people who don't buy something immediately, at their very first visit to the page, aren't you?

Ah thanks a lot for that clarification!

Btw, Alexa I always see that you offer lots of great advice, and I see that you're pretty successful with this IM stuff. If you wouldn't mind...how long were you at this until you relly started seeing results (making good money), and how did you learn? Did you figure it all out on your own, or did you use a mentor? Basically sometimes I feel like like I have such a crazy uphill battle...other times I feel insanely confident in the fact that I'm gonna succeed.

    Thanks!

You can indeed ... but not one given away on a pure squeeze page, which is what Anthony was referring to (I think).

About five months of working at it for about 30 hours per week. The first three months I earned virtually nothing, and the fourth month very little indeed.

Gradually, interspersed by a few "sudden realizations" (e.g. that in a field of activity with such a small success-rate - whoever's figures you believe - most of the readily available information is going to be misleading and incorrect and comprise statements which people are repeating because they see others repeating them).

Here's an embarrassing one-post summary of what I did wrong and how I corrected it: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post8532320

I never had coaching/mentoring, but I did identify three or four people here whose posts I trusted, and decided to ignore all the others at least until I was earning something realistic. And a couple of them very kindly helped me out a little by answering some specific questions by private message.

Yes ... I remember those feelings. I didn't know I was going to succeed until about 4-5 months in, though. After earning next to nothing, I suddenly made about $3,000 in my fifth month, and knew then that it was going to work out for me.

      Good luck!

Correct me if I'm wrong anyone, but I do believe if you use Google PPC now, you can't offer up a free product directly after the opt-in. Yahoo and Bing probably don't care as much as Google does.

Definitely drive traffic to a squeeze page to start building a relationship with your list. I would use one of your free books to give away once someone opts-into your list and then immediately offer one of your $3.99 books that is related.

    EX: Traffic-->Squeeze Page-->Free Book-->Related Paid Book $3.99

You could say something like, "Hey, thanks for downloading my free eBook [TITLE OF THE BOOK]. It's actually on its way to your inbox right now but before you go, I want to offer you one of my other books that you might like as well..." and go from there.

I have read somewhere that you can publish your free books on Amazon. There's actually a program for that. You have to look it up.

For your $3.99 books, you might be able to get those books into Apple's Newstand. I'm not 100% clear on this but people are actually promoting them via this method.

PPC is good but it will take time as you need to optimize your campaigns by finding out the right keywords, the correct ad text, correct marketing message on your landing page, etc.

Hey thanks a lot for the replies and suggestions!

I was wondering where this thread went....I initially posted it in the main IM discussion, but then it was gone all of a sudden (moved here).

Glad to see the thread is still here .

Anyway, ya I've been at this for about a year and a half now, but I'm always way more into creating the content then I am actually figuring out how to market my stuff...

It's only been in the last month or so that I've really started attempting to learn the "marketing" side of everything. There's so much stuff to take in:

Lists, pre-selling, keyword research, long tail keywords, squeeze pages, etc....

I'm like bombarded with how to even get STARTED!

      Oh well, I'll get it!

You can create a squeeze page and capture email addresses through PPC, but I recommend using PPC for a product instead. The best bet is to do both. List the products and have an email capture form available to take inquiries and capture leads. Why not combine the ebooks you sell into a package and offer a discount if they buy them all at once through your PPC page. If they want to sign up on your newsletter or ask questions, they can fill out the form. You accomplish 2 things this way. 1 - sales and 2 - capturing leads for follow up.

You can definitely use PPC to generate subscribers. Just be sure to properly budget everything. PPC can get expensive FAST.

And you absolutely need to first make sure that your landing page + follow up emails are solid. You don't want to waste money generating a bunch of subscribers only to have them lose interest once they hit your landing page or read your emails.

Yes it is very important that you make a squeeze page, this way you can increase your sale for the current ebooks and the future ebooks that you may write.

Yes you absolutely should, and each page should be custom tailored to the keywords you are targeting. This will help your campaign big time bc you'll get cheaper clicks and more qualified results.
