Not indexed/no sitemap?

I was using an SEO checker and it was saying I didn't have my pages indexed by google yet (webmaster tools said the same thing). My site has been around a month and my pages are showing in google so I'm a bit confused. Also it said I have no sitemap.xml file but it's definitely there. The Yoast SEO plugin generated it Webmaster tools is showing one error at page-sitemap.xml at the URl #. That's coming from me using # to create dead links in my header menu. Is that causing a problem with my sitemap file? If someone could check these things for me and tell me how to fix them I'd appreciate it.

The site is talesofanonrev.com

Do not use SEO checkers, most of them are crap. Here is how you check whether your pages are indexed:
    https://www.google.com/search?q=site...sofanonrev.com
so right now you have around 149 indexed, though its not necessarily a precise number.
And yes, you do have an XML sitemap.

If webmaster tools is showing up the filename in sitemaps section then it means the sitemap file is properly detected. No need to reply upon other external tools as they may be just looking for some standard names/format while you may have a different name for you sitemap.

Did you test with "site:yoursite.com" in Google?

I just made a new site and it took me 48 hrs to index. I was already starting to panic not knowing whether I maybe bought a domain with a shady history which won't be indexed. (I tried LOTS to get it indexed fast, including bookmarking, press release etc.)

What finally did it (and VERY quickly I might add) is mentioning it on facebook.

It also seems that the site(s) get actually crawled several days BEFORE they make it into the index. Since some information is outdated, from two days ago. (Eg. I changed the title but index shows the old one).

    PS: Your site IS indexed.

Did you tried pingin your pages?
It mostly works when google crawlers are slow in reaching to your site pages.

    See:
    http://talesofanonrev.com/robots.txt

    Code:
    Sitemap: http://talesofanonrev.com/sitemap.xml.gz
Enter above URL into a browser and get back "404 - not found".

That is probably the explanation of the SEO checker tool you used.

Weird. I deleted the XML sitemap plugin and that went away. I was using the Yoast SEO to generate the sitemap anyway. I checked with the site: and it's showing my pages...I guess those SEO checkers really are crap. That explains why the backlinks checker isn't showing all of my backlinks as well.
