I remember Angela used to have a service where she gave sites that would allow for profile links. Do these type of links have ANY value anymore?

They barely had any value years ago when she was conning people into buying that crap. They certainly do not have value now.

Nope, none. Yet she's still here spewing her services and these types of links.

She also argues her links are high PR links from authority sites. Unfortunately, she's duped a lot of people into believing this.

Links will improve your ranking, no doubt. However, there's also much more involved that include social metrics etc.

The simple answer is yes. It depends. Are these profile links from authoritative sites relevant to your particular niche? People on this forum will tell you that these links are worthless.

If this link adds to the diversity to your backlink profile, is not frrom a bad neighborhood, and is relevant to your marketing intentions then yes it's a good link whether or not it carries a lot of link juice.

A natural link profile is comprised of both useful and "useless" links.

Almost all profile links are never even crawled. They are usually at the end of a lot of robot.txt denies, and nofollow, and or javascript, sometimes even obfuscated...

Warrior forum profile links are nofollow, in theory Google will not crawl through them. The links on our profile are nofollow also.

In most profiles no Linkjuice will flow, and the robots will not go.

Not so powerful nowadays. Yes, you can still use them to get a few nofollow backlinks, but I would do something else!

You can get some value from profile links, but not as before in the past. Don't spend too much time on it. Concentrate more on building quality backlinks.

Don't waste you time to building those. Better do some blog commenting instead of that.

They are worthless at this point. Put your time and effort into anything else but profile links these days.

I built a lot of profile links back in the day and they did have an effect. But then I stopped building backlinks artificially long ago and I can't comment on whether they have any value or not now. What I can suggest is "Don't do it". Don't build profile links, don't build artificial backlinks just for the sake of building backlinks and deceiving search engines. Not only it has been losing effect continuously but also focusing on growing your own website in all apsects instead of creating artificial backlinks should be what everyone is doing. Let's assume that you built 10000 artificial backlinks. You spent days and days and thousands of dollars on that. Then one day a search engine update hits to shelves and now all that backlinks have zero value. Wouldn't you prefer to have focused on adding more content on your site and improving/marketing it using that resources (that are gone waste for backlinks)?

Focus on good content, focus on user and integrate into social.

In my opinion, they have some little value, but only for Tier 2 sites, for diversity, and not in insane amounts, lets say you have 50 links pointed to Tier 2, have 10 of those 50 links profile(natural looking) links - should carry some weight, for diversity. NOT for massive boost in rankinks...

Profile link of a good contributing member can help a lot for promotion and ranking.
Besides, profile link should be indexed in Google for best results, and should be visible after logout.

About a month, 2 months ago I removed all of my sig links in all of my profiles.

They were primarily pointed at two different sites.

      The change in rank?

      None. Nadda. Zero.

      Period.

Warrior Forum has nofollow sigs so the sig wasn't doing anything to begin with.

Most of them are nofollow and will not really matter when it comes to rankings. But as others said, it could be beneficial in giving you more diverse links so they could be important in your website's link profile as a whole.

Nope, it's a great way to negSEO a site but that's about it. The only extent of the use would be indexing tier 2-3 links but that's really about it. Don't build profile links directly to your money pages.

I used to rank sites with them way back in the day, I haven't seen any results these days.

I find that the harder it is to get a link, usually the better it is. Go for the big links in your niche and reap the rewards for years.
