Is low Avg. CPC still monetizeable?

Howdy Everyone,

If I find a niche that has LOTS of keywords with low competition, high search volume, but extremely low Avg. CPC, are there ways to monetize it successfully with advertisements other then AdWords if I can get lots of traffic?

Please keep in mind that I do not want to create products or promote affiliates programs. I simply want to have ads on the site.

If this is possible, what is the strategy & potential?

Your replies would be extremely helpful, and I would be extremely grateful!

    If the CPC is low, that pretty much means you probably won't make much with something like Adsense.

    Your only alternative would be some sort of other affiliate program, which for some reason you don't want to do.

    Unless you become authoritative in that niche, chances are advertisers won't contact you directly to buy ad space.

    So I don't really see how you're gonna do this.

      Hey Richard,

      Thanks for your reply. The reason I wouldn't be able to do affiliate marketing is because this would be a site related to celebrities (no, not gossip). It seems every site out there in the celebrity niche is monetizing with ads, yet I'm wondering how gossip sites are profiting with their ads. Are they most likely finding keywords with a decent CPC?

      Any final thoughts on this would be much appreciated

    your best bet would be adsense really, imagine if adsense pays little, the other network even less
