I'm hearing google is going to put less important on PR and do follow links. Instead there going to be looking at how much ""Buzz" your business or brand has with all the social sites except for Facebook because spiders won't crawl it. Besides twitter and G+ should I start registering and posting with all 200000" crap sites or stick with obtaining quality niche relevant links??

Thanks

Yeah, Google just handed over the ranking algo to Twitter. Now that makes sense. Next in this weeks news, we meet the man who was abducted by aliens and starved so hungry he ate his own ass.

It's 2014 and PR links are working as well as ever. In my experience they're all you need.

So, using your logic, google is going for social signals, but will ignore the
biggest soial endeavor on the planet? Makes no sense.

Your whole premise about devaluing links makes no sense either.

    Check your hearing.

Any post that starts with "I'm hearing that Google is going to…" is a recipe for disaster. No one knows what Google is "going to" do… We'll all find out at the same time.

Backlinks work just as well now as they have in the past. Just stay away from crappy links, spun content, etc and you should be fine.

You are hearing wrong. Even if you go by what Google says Matt cutts has said links have many years left in them

Mike Anthony is right.... You have wrong information buddy. Google never ever gives a less priority to links. Yeah if you said about PR than may be I agree with you but you heard wrong.

You've been misinformed. Backlinks, especially those that are dofollow and on High PR sites, will continue to have a great influence on a site's rankings. Here's what Matt Cuts has to say on this topic:
