Google Penalty removal companies

I used freelancers extensively for my SEO, and predictably, thy piled on a bunch of spammy links.
When Penguin came out, my site went from top 5 for most keywords to nowhere to be found.
Not realizing what happened, I used more freelancers who only dug me in deeper.

So now I need to get out this hole.

the site is hxxp://www.gtdentistry.com

I used a freelancers who told me 198 domains were spammy, and gave me a disavow file. 2 months later, no change.

I looked up a few companies that supposedly specialize in penalty removal.
The range of quotes is staggering.
From $297 (LinkDelete) to $3500.

I understand most times you get what you pay for, but usually there isn't that much of a range...and they are all promising to do the same thing, manually review each link, reach out to webmasters, and request removal and disavowal.

So the question is - what should I be looking for in penalty removal company, what should this process cost, and is it worth going through.

thanks!

In my opinion unless it was negative seo link removal is a waste of time. What you should focus on doing is building higher quality pbn links to inject authority and help you regain your ranking.

As long as your site was not sandboxes, building high quality links with social signals should help get you back to the top.

This could not be farther from the truth. Keeping a spammy link profile in place is down right stupid. If you've been hit by Penguin you should remove links and clean up the profile. You can recover rankings by doing so, I have as have many other people. The next thing is that if you decide to keep those links in place you are asking to be hit by a manual penalty down the road. A friend of mine tried to blast his way out of a Penguin issue, only to have a manual penalty thrown his way.

If you are planning on doing link removals use Linkdelete. While the prices are lower than the competition they are the best for link removals. From what I have read most of these other service providers use Link delete's services and mark up the service to you. A great business model if you ask me. I think I may try this myself soon.

Linkdelete has helped me remove a manual penalty and clean up a few of my sites with over optimization and penguin issues. I tried to do it myself for a bit but it's not a good use of my time finding bad links, dealing with the emails and follow ups, and creating disavows and so on. I was quoted over $10k for link removals from other companies and I paid around $1k for 4 domains and a ton of links.

I talked to many of the other guys like you and even looked at doing it myself but gave up on that idea. PM me if you want and I can give a few pointers on how I recovered rankings for penguin sites and best ways to use linkdelete.

In my opinion that makes no sense. Spam still ranks, just look at the serps. Trying to get rid of links seems like a waste of time and money.

Idk about u but im not paying some guy hundreds of dollars to take something down that helps my website. As long as your not sandboxed, those links can help.

My advice is to invest that money in good pbn or sape links.

I'd probably do the same. I'm sure in time your site will come back up. If you can delete the bad links yourself and do remove the really bad ones plus you working on some good SEO. It will recover, it might not come really soon but it will come eventually.

It's what I did on one of my blogs. It went back up in a month or two.

That is a long tedious process, and I would not have the patients to do it myself. The Linkdelete suggestion is my pick. Dubiously you will need to decide for yourself. Gut most marketers can't afford to spend that much time doing this type of stuff when it can be outsourced so easily.
