Silo structure, Wordpress, and mandatory pages

Yes, sorry. Have to do it. My question is:

I'm developing a site for a law firm. I completely understand the Silo concept. I struggled with deciding whether to do a category page supported by posts, or category page supported by subpages and ignoring the blog section of wordpress or leaving it for miscellaneous crap like announcements etc.

But I think I'm going with Homepage>category page>subpage, all within Pages, not posts.

My question is: I know it's supposed to be kept tight with internal links. However, there are a few pages that people need/want to see no matter where they end up. I need a page for lawyer fees, about the lawyers page, etc.

Not selling a product here. So most searchers are looking for an article about their specific situation, and then deciding whether to contact the lawyer. I can get rid of the contact us page by listing the address and phone number and contact box on every page, but what about the about us page, and lawyer fees, etc.?

Or am I overthinking it.

    Sounds like this law-firm has got a good web-developer on their hands.

    I would keep the about and contact.

    Place 1 or more contextual links in the about page, i wouldn't bother with them in the contact page.

    They're a business, you must leverage a bit to meet the needs of clients. Not having those pages could be bad for reputation and overall brand.

    TL DR:

    Keep those pages in the footer.

    Thanks PayJayNow, I noticed you still have links to all of the silos in the menu bar, and they can be accessed from any silo? Have you blocked them somehow from Google?

    Or is user friendliness more important here.

      I think friendliness is most important, especially for law firms. On a SEO basis, I'm a firm believer in silos; however, it is "the net", and I think, on some level, sites that are siloed then netted do better. IMHO

        I think you're under estimating the concept of website architecture. For me your law website is not very friendly. You are also lacking a proper on-page seo. I bet it has taken a long time for search engines to credit it as an authority for related keywords.

        But hey i could be wrong, you're ranking for many keywords. Maybe i am wrong and the google spiders love your website's architecture.

        Or maybe its the backlinks.(Off-page seo)

        For 13 years its steadily built up around 10k backlinks. I do not know the quality of them. But i do know that in the last 3 months or so the site has gained 60k extra backlinks.
