Why not buy a domain, then wait 10 years to do something with it.
Instant riches! Perhaps waiting 20 years would be even better!

    Well, no.

I actually mean if I register a domain for 1 year, 2 or 5 years, will that affects ranking?
should I register a domain for 3 years or it doesn't matter?

Registering a domain for 1, 5, or 10 years doesn't help with SEO, although some SEOs believe it does. Google Says Domain Registrations Don't Affect SEO, Or Do They?

Domain registration length doesn't effect SEO rank because registration length staying duration on Google website some period of time and page rank is different .

Well, if i talk about now then I don't think that's a matter which requires discussion ! I would rather say I have seen several new domains are performing well over the Google SERPS. So nope that isn't a topic to debate on.

No, but as a word of advice, I wouldn't register anything over 12 characters personally. If you can't get the name you want, add a suffix.

    Hi,

I agree with SEO power. If you register for 10 years also there is no use for SEO purpose.

Does domain age matter in SEO? Well, this is highly debatable issue for years. The fact is, a very little weight is given to the domain age when the site is 2-3 months old. Why? For a brand new website, domain age is a factor. Well, it is pretty logical to consider that a new website may not have enough content on it, therefore, it could be more difficult for this brand new site to get its ranking for the chosen keywords. However, after a couple of months, the ranking of the website depends on how much quality and valuable content the site has to offer to its audiences that they are looking for. So, at this point, domain age doesn't have enough importance.

The fact is: if you have a site on 10 years old domain that offers no valuable content and a site on 5 months old domain that offers truly valuable content to its target audience - Google will find the 5 months old website more valuable than the 10 years old site.

It's worth reading this article: Does Domain Age and Registration Length Matter in SEO?

Regarding the registration length, here is what Matt Cutts says,

and the main part of the video is:

make great content and don't worry nearly as much about how many years your domain is registered for, just because someone is sending you an email that says, Google does or even may use this in ranking, does not mean that you should automatically take them at face value. What makes a really big difference is the quality of your site and the sort of links that you have pointing to you, not, you know, is my site registered for three or four years, instead of one or two years.

    Hi,
Domain registration doesn't not effect any ranking with the older domains for this we just need some good coding and some good content
