Random image displayed from website link in FB post- why??

SOCIAL NETWORKS

Hi,

We made a post that included a link to our website in response to a post on FaceBook.

Now on our web page are 2 images, roughly the same size - for some reason the image of the first photo on our website is now displayed on the post - as this image is not the one we want we would like to have FB pull the image of the header of our site instead of this other random image - can anyone tell me how to fix this?

You want to use Open Graph Meta Tags to specify an image. Without specifying an image, Facebook will attempt to parse all of your images to get content.

You can check how Facebook parses your page via their debugger.

As an addition, to test the link, the description and the image you should use first the open graph URL debugger

Insert your website and click on Debug.
Them. be sure you click on "Fetch new scrape information" - Facebook will grab and update your website's OG tags with the new image as well.
