How to find the source of a viral post?

History: About 3 weeks ago a video with a link posted on a large account received many likes and comments. Yay! As more content was posted on this page, naturally after 2 or 3 days the traffic trickled.

Issue: After boring 3 weeks, the traffic from this video spiked again. This time due to shares. It's being shared like mad. Every 15 minutes I search FB for the video, several new shares are shown. About 300 views a minute. Why did this happen?

I cannot find 'Patient Zero' to point the source of the upsurge in shares over the past 24 hours. The original post has long been buried. Searching Google, Twitter, Youtube and FB turns up nothing to indicate source of shares or explanation as to why it's being shared so much. For example, one share from yesterday coincides with the upsurge in traffic but that share itself has only 5 Likes and 3 comments. Other than the original post, only 4 shares exceed 10 Likes with the most being 29. The video is not appearing in 'trends' on FB. I am not engage in BH.

Is there an off-FB place where this video may be embedded? If so, how would I find it? Searching Google for the video link and text within the video does not reveal anything interesting.

There is no problem here other than finding Patient Zero.
