Using Instagram to build an email list?

Hi all,

Have any of you ever tried using Instagram to build a huge email list? For instance, can you get a lot of followers (through posting, following others, commenting etc) and have a link to a squeeze page in your bio?

Has that worked for any of you?

    It will work but since it's free traffic it is a long-term strategy. You'll need to consistently post and interact with your followers for at least 6 months to a year before you'll start making money.

    Also, I would take 10 minutes out of each day to add 1 email to your autoresponder as you're going along so by the end of the year you'll have 365 emails automatically sending and making you money

    Agree with Mr Winner here in that being long-term focused is key here. You can collect addresses in a hurry through giveaways and other things like that, and with enough followers might get a bunch of visits to your squeeze page (even at a low click rate) but for most business models consistent, slow drip relationship building on the back of high quality social content is likely what you'll find to be the most reliable.

    But generally speaking, yes, a high quality IG feed, with your "what and why" and a link in your bio, can work quite well..

    The best way to do this is by creating something new that your target audience will want. This is the most important thing that can be used to make an organic follower.
    Well, it can be done in any other way, but as Blues Player said, you can also try this method.
    You can reorder links by simply grabbing them and moving them around the page. If you want to include any additional information, there is also an 'Extended Bio' section below where you can add text. After you're done, just 'Get your URL', copy the link, and add it to your Instagram bio.

      They would give their email if they got something in return (law of reciprocity). I would offer a lead magnet (free ebook) in exchange for their email..
