Is Twitter blocking viral links?

Hey Warriors,

I do some viral marketing at the moment and stumbled upon the following situation.

I'm running a viral campaign at the moment and people are sharing my website like crazy and the visitors kept fleeing in. But now... nothing, it stopped!

Now I heard one time that if a link is shared a lot on twitter, twitter will make the link invisible. Now I can imagine they do that if I was sharing the link a lot myself but in my situation others are sharing it.

Is it possible twitter made it impossible for people to share my website because it was shared to much?

Well that doesn't sound right. Your traffic completely stopped?

Twitter will not remove a link if it's shared "too much" as they encourage viral topics. That's how they started the whole trending topics idea as well as promoted tweets.

If it looks like spam however, they may have taken action.

    • Thanks for the fast reply Nick,

I'm using "pay with a tweet" so a lot of users are tweeting EXACTLY the same message, guess that could be the problem.

If thats the problem I just make more "pay with a tweet" buttons and rotate them on my website. If anyone has a better sollution I'm pleased to hear.

Another question. Is there any website or plugin which does the same like "pay with a tweet" but then ONLY for facebook. So people can only get the book or whatever if they share it on FB?
