How I managed to get more than 2,000 FB fans in one day FOR FREE!

Hi guys,

Today I'd like to share how I managed to get more than 2,000 new fans to my FB page in one single day. I hope it will give you some ideas to develop yours

As you may know, people are sensible to incredible or "touching stories". These kind of posts are easily liked, shared, which gives you a lot of exposure.

So what I did was pretty simple: I browsed the web, looking for something really original and "touching" to share. I used Google image in order to find great images. It is really important to have nice pics because this is what will attract people.

Quickly, I managed to find a pretty nice story about the friendship of a man and a crocodile. I gathered couple of nice pics and put them together using Photoshop.

Then, I tried to find a nice article about this story in order to share it with the images.

Job done. I posted the story on my page and other big pages. Booom! The image went viral and got shared by more than 11,500 people. It resulted in attracting more than 2K new fans to my page IN ONE DAY.

Here is the image/story I am talking about (you might have already seen it): Amazing Story

This kind of success can be easily duplicated. It only requires spending some time to find something original and gathering great photos. My page now has around 65K fans and keep growing.

I hope you enjoyed my share and found it useful and motivating

Keep up the great work guys!

Ben

UPDATE

----------------------------------------------------------------------

YOUR PAGE:

1) Create your page and add a nice/professional timeline banner and avatar (this is really important to "stand out").

2) Then, start adding a lot of high quality contents to your page. Why? Simply because this is how you create value. As you may know, people will "like" your Facebook page only if they find value in it. Having great contents is definitely the way to do it.

3) Diversify your posts. For example, I will share a beautiful photo of Italy. Then, my next share will be (for example) a funny picture where I ask my fans to find a great caption for it. This is a great way to keep your community active. I can then share some great news related to nature ("Algae lamps may soon light up in streets!"...).

---------------------------------------------------

OTHER PAGES

Now it is time to get more exposure by posting your best photos on other big/small pages.

4) Use the Facebook Search bar to find similar pages (in the same niche). Giving that your page is brand new, don't focus only on "big pages". Smaller ones with couple of thousands fans will be easier to convince. Make sure that these pages are active and that their fans correspond to your targeted audience. Check the likes and the comments. If you see that most of them are from Asian people, you may want to choose another page. Then, make a list of all the pages you've found and keep it preciously.

5) Now, start posting your best photos on these pages. Don't spam them. Post only high quality things. The idea here is not only to use these pages to develop yours, it is also to bring value to them.

6) Don't hesitate to send a message to the admins of these pages. Not to ask them to share your page, but to tell them that you love their page(s) and appreciate all the shares. In this way, you will motivate them and admins will start to notice you.

7) When you share a post on other pages, don't forget to "tag" your page in it. To do it, simply use "@" and start typing the name of your page. In my case, I need to write @Amazing World. When you start typing the name of your page, a drop down menu will be displayed, allowing you to choose your FB page (or another one). Then you can do something like:

Join our Page -► @YOUR PAGE HERE ◄- For more amazing photos!

8) After couple of weeks, you can finally start contacting FB page admins and ask them to share your page. I usually send the following message:

"Hey there,

Once again I'd like to congratulate you for your wonderful page. I really enjoy all of your posts and can't stop myself from coming back to your page. As you may have seen, I am pretty active on your page and always try to post high quality photos that will bring value to it.

Couple of weeks ago, I have created my own Facebook page: YOUR PAGE HERE and have been trying to develop it since. I would be really thankful if you could share one of my photos to your fans and invite them to visit my page. This would really encourage me to be even more active!

I hope you will have the time to read my message. Anyway, are doing an amazing work! Keep it up!

Kindest Regards,

Amazing World"

It has been working pretty well for me so far. If you follow all these steps, you will definitely be able to develop your fan base.

Cheers!

Ben

That is an awesome page. I liked it just because I thought it looked great, amazing photos on there.

How do you monetize it? Or do you?

Thank you for your kind words Shawnskee. I haven't really started to monetize it yet. I am waiting until reaching 100K fans. Then I will start creating a photography website, allowing people and photographers to share their own photos. I will be able to sell advertising spots on the site (to photographers) and include a "shop" section with products/affiliate offers related to photography.

I am also planning to add a "photographers" section listing some of the most talented photographers. In order to be listed in this section, photographers will be able to pay me to add their bio and site. I will also run some "Photographer of the week" campaigns on the site and on my FB page. During these campaigns, I will share one photo of the chosen photographer, everyday during one week. Each photo will be shared with the photographer details and website. When these campaigns will start to become more famous, I guess photographers will contact me to know how they can be part of it. I can then start to monetize these campaigns as well

Currently photographers are paying me to promote their photos (and sites) on my page. I also use the page to generate couple of sales with some of my brand new sites (selling digital services) and then sell them on Flippa (which is working pretty well so far).

Those fans won't be targeted and therefore close to worthless.

Worthless? Actually they helped me to make more than $10K in one month... Moreover, my page is about photography and this strategy is helping me to attract tons of photographers. So I wouldn't say "worthless"...

It's all about the pics and stories you choose. If you have a page related to dogs, find a nice story about dogs. If you have a page related to new technologies, find an incredible story about a new invention...

However, without that critical information, following your steps and waiting for 100k followers is a losing strategy.

Also, your "$10,000 in a month" result sounds strikingly like the results of a mailing list. Converting one list to another list typically brings 10% of the old list onto the new list, where they're typically worth an average of $1 a month. It is worth considering whether you might actually be better off just building a mailing list in the first place.

Don't get me wrong - your results are good, yay, go you. Your methods are solid, too. But the crucial piece of information here isn't what kind of stories people share; we know that already. What people have trouble figuring out is how to convert people sharing a story into people giving you money. How to connect the dots from this story to those people to these products and services.

You used the example of dogs; sure, you can easily get people who are interested in dogs to share a story about dogs. What's NOT easy is getting those same people to buy something. That's where newbies fall over on the social media thing.

(I don't know how to do it myself. I market in more traditional fashions and only use social media to engage with others personally - not as a direct marketing channel.)

I definitely agree with you. The thing is, my share is more about how I managed to develop my FB page (and not how I manage to monetize it). I guess we all have different ways of monetizing our social media presence. What I can tell you is that I am not making my $10K via a mailing list. However, it is definitely something I want to start doing in the next couple of months (building my own list, doing solo ads - and so on).

But how you monetize it is relevant to how you develop it. If someone else isn't monetizing the same way, developing the way you did may not work. "Here's how I poured the foundation to my house" assumes a significant amount of detail as to what kind of house you're building and where you're building it.

Thank you so much. Amazing what you did in 2 weeks of posting. A little kindness goes a long way to make an impact.

Plus you made a friend with a person of social influence in the FB community for free . . . something that advertising doesn't buy.

The people who are negative don't understand the genius of your method. You are doing the same thing in this group . . . sharing a method for free that could have been a WSO.

When you get to the point where you want to monetize any method in a WSO . . . you will have fans. Plus you are making contacts showing your expertise to warriors wanting to build FB fans for free.

Traffic is traffic. Your traffic is better than the fake traffic often purchased. You have an audience now plus a proven system. Also, people who like heart warming stories are going to be a pleasant group to build a business base.

Later you can make offers to section off the traffic into niches of interest. If a few thousand go into each niche, not a loss of time.

Some on this group never get to any level of traffic and influence. Your method is fast and simple.

Since you are doing a photography niche . . . if you haven't already . . . contribute helpful information to Digital Photography Tips: Digital Photography School which is owned by Darren Rowse who also owns Blog Tips to Help You Make Money Blogging - ProBlogger. He allows guest contributors to both sites, has a forum and has a huge level of influence with bloggers and photographers.

My business partner and I wrote for Problogger several years ago. We got a huge spike in traffic for the article and years of traffic. Not bad for one article. His influence has only grown.

What you shared here could be an article on either site. You could show this forum post as an example of the interest generated to readers.

Also, if you have a website . . . commentluv allows guest posting if you have their free plugin. Another group that would love to learn your method.

Congratulations. Hope you continue your success which I am sure you will.

Wooow, this is definitely an encouraging post. Thanks a lot Betty, I really appreciate it.

I will definitely check your links and see how I can help others with my method. I hope it will be useful and help a lot of internet marketers (and others) to develop their online presence

Thanks again for your kind words (and tips).

Yes, definitely. The thing is, no matter how you decide to monetize your page, my "method" is also working for niche pages.

For example, if I have a page focused on a video game such as Halo 4. I will try to find a great story/news/photo to share on my page and try to get it viral. Then, the people who will "re-share" the post and like my page will be people interested in Halo 4. People who don't care about "Halo 4" won't like/share my post and won't join my page. This is why I will still manage to get relevant people to my niche page

Fantastic, out-of-the-box thinking there. The only small niggle I have is copyright protection on the photos. As these photos are not been taken by you how do you manage to side step the legalities. As it happens I am a photographer myself and have gone the polar opposite route with little FB success. I couldn't possibly put a photo I didn't take on either my blog or FB page, I don't have it in me

What is your problem? I'm trying to save the noobs on this forum alot of wasted time by pointing out the flaws of OP's plan.

Every time someone posts how they got a few thousand FB fans free, everyone jizzes their pants here. I cannot overemphasize how important targeted fans are and how important ROI is when dealing with FB because FB can be a huge time suck and dollar suck with little return except for a worthless sense of accomplishment that X amount of people "like" your page.

I manage over 20 pages with very high PTATs (100%+ as a ratio to fans) and push affiliate links twice a day on each. I spend thousands on FB ads and more than make up for it with commissions from sales. I know how long and how much effort it takes to get fans virally versus through ads. And I know the value of the fans from each method. I also know how important the lifetime value of a fan is. So, when I see rubbish strategies that are going to have noobs spending a lot of time getting untargetted fans, I'm going to point it out.

That makes a lot more sense with explanation that the initial comment.
So, my apologies for a rash comment on my part.
I just hate to see someone take action, and then take criticism.

What do you do to gain targeted fans vs non-targeted?

You have 20 pages? Great for you. I have only one page and my rubbish strategy (combined to my own money making system) allowed me to quit my job (Marketing Director) last September and work full time online. Usually, my monthly income varies between $3K to $15K.

So if these are the kind of results you get from a "rubbish" strategy, I guess I will keep using it. Moreover, I didn't have to pay thousands of $ in ads to generate these incomes.

Please note that it is not because you have a system that is working for you that it means it is the only way to go.

What you are doing is pretty simple: select a niche, add relevant content to your page, spend money in ads to laser target your fans, develop your community, keep your page active and promote affiliate offers / build your list of subscribers. Actually, there is nothing new in what you are doing, you aren't teaching me anything...

The main objective in having general pages (as mentioned before) is that I can then redirect targeted fans to other niche pages. For example, if I create a page about dogs, I can then create another page about dog's products, and redirect fans from my general page who are interested in dog's products. Then I can create a page about dog's training and do the exact same thing. So, instead of spending thousands of dollars in ads for several pages, I simply spend couple of dollars on one general page and then use it to develop my niche pages.

A big thank you for your kind and encouraging words Natalie. I am glad to see that my share is motivating you

I can definitely picture myself in what you wrote. It is always really difficult to stay focused on only one thing (above all when you are someone creative). If you need anything, just let me know! I'll be more than happy to help you.

Then I can create a page about dog's training and do the exact same thing. So, instead of spending thousands of dollars in ads for several pages, I simply spend couple of dollars on one general page and then use it to develop my niche pages.
You don't "redirect" fans. You are WAY oversimplifying Facebook.

Using your strategy, to get your general page fans to your niche page, you have to post about the niche page.

Then the general page fans have to see the post (most of your general page's fans won't see the post because of EdgeRank).

Then you have to get them to go to the niche page.

And then you have to get them to like the niche page once they are there.

Every step of the way, more and more of the general page's fans are lost. So that by the time all is said and done, you have a trickle of fans to the niche pages.

Say you have 10,000 fans on the general page. Say then you post about the niche page - which means you have to create an enticing post, which means time spent. Say that 1,000 people see the post. Say that 50 people like the post. Of those, say that 20 actually go to the niche page (that's very high CTR to post-like ratio believe it or not). Of that, say 10 actually like the page.

Congrats, you got a whopping 10 new fans for that work. You know what 10 fans costs if you know how to advertise on FB? For me, 25 cents total for 10 fans in my niches.

Using your strategy, someone will have a valuable FB niche page with critical mass when they're 80 years old.

Your strategy makes as much sense as a hypothetical where Pepsi creates a general food and beverage page - call it, "People who like drinking and eating" - and then posting about its actual Pepsi page via the general page. Creating that extra page is so useless. Just create the Pepsi page and drive traffic to it - don't drive traffic to another page in hopes of driving part of that traffic to the target page. What a waste of time.

I think his suggestion is a brilliant idea. In the PR world, it comes down to social network and he is adding people with very little effort and expense. Most would be proud of his achievement.

Now that he has a base of popularity, he can focus more on his niche but he has built his social influence.

Question . . . I understand finding heartwarming stories but I don't understand the photo part. Seems creative commons would have unrelated photos. Did the crocodile story have a photo from a newspaper or news site that you reused?

Do you rewrite the heartwarming story from your perspective?

                    Hi Betty,

Thank you for your kind words. What I usually do is taking the photos/info from an online newspaper (such as DailyMail, BBC...) and find a video on youtube (to prove it)

I'll repeat myself once again: this is my main strategy and it has been working pretty well for me so far. It doesn't mean that you can't use other strategies (such as FB ads, media buying...) to promote/develop your other pages. You need to be smart. It is all about combining things together to get an effective system to develop your pages...

                    You just don't get it.

Let me explain it to you with an example:

Say your goal is to create a page selling cat food.

Your recommendation is to create an animal lovers page and then hope that a small % of those fans are cat owners. And then hope that a % of those cat owners want to buy cat food online.

You would spend a lot of time and energy building up that general page to reach a tiny few.

However, if you instead just built a page for people who want to buy cat food - and never build the animal lovers page - then you can focus all your efforts on that page, which believe me will require a lot of time to monetize, so much so that you don't want to waste time on an animal lovers page.

Building a general page to 10,000 people just to reach 100 people is the dumbest idea ever. And the fact that you don't realize it is amazing.

It seems more likely that you don't get it --!!!

Do you not get it that Ben has already made 1000's of doallars from using this technique? Is this not enough to convince you that he must be doing something right to have achieved this result?!!

btw, I have seen his work and I know he's telling the truth about the money he's made and I personally believe he has a very profitable future ahead of him and he deserves it too, since he has a vision that people like you are overlooking for whatever reason that may be.

One thing you aren't seeing is that when you have 10,000 cat lovers traffic . . . you can do anything with the traffic that you want.

I make money helping people be a success on the internet. His free technique gets traffic. Once traffic is flowing, a business owner can be creative about how to use the windfall of traffic.

An entrepreneur may start a fb page wanting to sell "cat food" but once he has the traffic and gets to know his visitors . . . he might decide cat food is a lot of work and a lot of risk.

He thinks creatively and decides to make money selling pictures of cats or cat books or an adsense site for cat lovers or help a company use his traffic for cat publicity or an Etsy t-shirt/mugs with "soft kitty" from the Big Bang Theory.

If he gets 100,000 to his "cat lovers" FB page . . . he might sell how to get FB followers for free which is a totally different market from cats.

I dare say Deezign can do facebook sites for companies and never pursue his "plan A." He has traffic, influence and connections now. Many of the people in Warrior Forum are making their money off of consulting or selling their "how to's."

Traffic opens your possibilities. I can't tell you how many times my clients start in one direction. After talking to actual visitors to our site, we switch directions totally. Without the traffic we were speculating what "cat lovers" wanted.

His ideas are free . . . if you want to buy traffic you can. However, he is making friends with influential bloggers doing his method which is the bottomline of social networking. Also, he is open to new ideas and sharing what works for him.

Deezign is already a success. Now he has the freedom to choose what to do with his success.

First of all congrats for making that picture go viral. I got a couple of questions tho.

                - I see that there are a bunch of people tagged in that picture. Did you tag them, or did they add themselves?

                - Did you use any other fb accounts in order to push this image?

Last but not least I have to add, what others already said. The quality of likes might not be too good even tho I think these 2k might have been more productive than the 68k you had before.

Your page has almost 70k likes and only 751 are talking about it. This discrepancy is HUUUGE and quite frankly horrible. My (last month launched site) https://www.facebook.com/epicpixcom - got only a mere 235 likes, but 100 talking about it. That's the half. In your case that should be 35k. And if you're running a good site, that number can be twice as high as your actual number of likes.

So while you're adding likes you really need to focus on the quality. And how do you earn 10k/month off such a tiny engagement rate?

I apologize for my late reply, I don't know why I wasn't notified of new comments on my thread. Anyway, here are my answers:

                  1) I have never tagged anyone on my pictures. People usually tag their friends of family by themselves. When I started the page (and managed to get couple of thousands of fans), the tagging function was blocked (intentionally). However, I got a lot of requests from my fans, asking me to let them tag their friends on my posts. This is the reason why this function is now available on my page.

                  2) No. I only have one FB account and posted my page on several other big pages.

                  3) Actually your are wrong. My page only had 751 "people talking about it" because I had to stop posting things on my page for months. So of course, if you don't post anything, people don't have anything to share. This is why the number of "talking about it" was low at that time. Couple of days ago, I started (again) to post new pictures and videos on my page. I got around 16K new fans in less than a week and a half. My current number of "talking about it" is 21K (and this number will increase as long as I keep sharing new things on my page.

Please note that a page with a low "talking about it" number doesn't mean that the page doesn't have quality fans. It can simply means that the page hasn't been updated for a while, so the fans don't have anything to share.

In your case, it would be a great share to detail exactly how you are doing this for the benefit of others. Sounds like you have a great strategy.
If you are worried about giving away your secrets, many people will probably really dig your idea, but less than 1% will probably do anything with it.
I for one would 'dig' it, and I may take action :-)

I agree with you. This strategy won't work for all niches and this is why we have to be creative As mentioned before, this shouldn't be the "only" strategy used to develop your page. It should be combined to other things, such as FB ads, contests, games (and so on).

However, this idea will still work for a lot of niches. As written earlier, If I would have planned to develop a niche page about a video game such as Halo 4, I would have spent some time trying to find some funny/great pictures (and stories) that could easily go viral among Halo 4 fans.

This is so inspiring that I very much want to try and do something like what you've done here with a Facebook page of my own. I have some questions about your current monetizing method for your page as I am trying to decide whether I will be able to do similar things with my page.

If I may ask, how many likes/followers/fans did you wait until your page had before you were able to do this? Do these people approach you and ask you to promote for them or do you seek them out and make them an offer? And is this paid promotion thing lucrative enough for a whole business by itself or is it just a little extra income on top of the other stuff you do with this page?

In my opinion, one of the best strategy on Facebook is to develop a FB page based on a general niche. Then, thanks to this page, you will be able to lead your fans into a more specific (and targeted) niche page.

Let's suppose that my niche is about dog's training. This niche is definitely specific and because of this, it won't be really easy to attract a lot of fans.

However, the idea would be to create (first) a "general" fan page about a topic including your niche. For example, I would create a page about "dogs", sharing only great quality contents (dog photos, articles, videos and so on). Why dogs? Simply because my niche (dog's training) is included inside Usually, people who are interested in "dog's training" are people who actually love dogs (and have one).

Then I will try to develop this first page about dogs. It shouldn't be too difficult if you focus on sharing high-quality content. Once you've attracted a lot of fans, you can then create another fan page about your specific niche (dog's training) and share posts on your first big page.

Why is it a good thing? Simply because you will be able to communicate among a big audience. A lot of people who love "dogs" have a dog, so it will be easier to attract them on your "niche" page.

The good thing is, given that your first page is "general", you can then use it to attract fans to some of your other niche pages (animal protection, dog and cat products….).

This is a terrible strategy that will result in a ton of wasted time and resources. Just target people to a dog training page to begin with via FB ads and save yourself a ton of time and money. I can't remember the last time I spent over 4 cents for targeted fans to a FB page via ads.

Actually, I think you don't really get it. Of course anyone can use FB ads (even I do it). Using FB ads shouldn't be your only strategy. It should be combined to other things. The main point in developing a "general page" is that you can then use your audience to create and develop a lot of other niche pages (and it will be done really fast). This is a strategy that different top marketers are using and that it is also used by communication agencies for community management purposes.

Pretty strange... Did you invite people to like your page? When I share a photo, I usually use the following structure:

Title (title of the pic - should be catchy)

Invitation to join my page: "Join our Page -► YOUR PAGE ◄- For more amazing photos!"

      Description (description of the pic)

Credits (Source, Photographer's name & website - when I can find them)

      Hi Kyle,

Thank you for your kind words. The first step was adding a lot of great photos to my page (because an empty page isn't really attractive). I wanted to have something to show to people. This is why I spent time collecting only the best photos I could find online (using websites such as Flickr, 500px, Earth Shots, National Geographic...).

Then, I started to share my best photos on other big pages (to get more exposure). Admins of these pages started to appreciate my shares (because I wasn't spamming their pages, only sharing high quality pics/info). They started to share my posts and give credits to my page. This helped me a lot to develop my fan base.

I also used Facebook ads (which worked pretty well too).

Well, I usually prefer to use Facebook ads after reaching 1 or 2 thousand fans. In this way, you already have a pretty good (and active community), so people won't hesitate to join your page

FaceCap, look for the license. You want to make sure they are giving you permission to use the image.
Typically they will have a Creative Commons license that allows you to use and distribute the work.
      It will look something like this;
This file is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 2.0 Generic license.

      You are free:
      • to share - to copy, distribute and transmit the work
      • to remix - to adapt the work
      Under the following conditions:

      • share alike - If you alter, transform, or build upon this work, you may distribute the resulting work only under the same or similar license to this one.
You can take a look at it here. About halfway down the page.

      Search under Google creative commons.

Wow, great success story there. Do you have other pages made, you know, ones that worked as well? Because this might just be a lucky shot, albeit an inspiring one. I just want to see if the method really works, and whether or not it's worth giving a try. Also, the pictures that you used.. they came from a royalty-free site, I'm assuming? Because if they aren't, well, I would be a bit bothered about copyright issues. Anyway, I just wanted to know if the strategy works in general. I've seen a lot of Facebook posts that went 'viral' and I was wondering if there is indeed a strategy behind it so that we could learn from. But thanks for sharing! It's things like these that keep us going.

He did use the images to drive traffic to his website though. And I like the idea of the content of the pic to drive a targeted audience. Don't see this as rubish or worthless at all.

Sure. To give you a concrete example, I managed to find several big pages that are giving credits to other pages (when they post something nice on their wall). One of these pages is: https://www.facebook.com/someamazingfacts

Now, imagine that the post that went viral on my page is now being shared by another big page (where the admin gives credits to my own page and invites his fans to check and "like" my page). Can you see how powerful it is?

The hardest part is to find big and active pages that are used to sharing other people posts (and giving them credits)

I can see how a site with a few likes enters the stream of a bigger player. Good idea.

However, how did you make your comment stand out in the bigger player's comments so he pointed to your post?

What I did is sharing (daily) a lot of great posts on their wall. By great posts I mean high quality content (not spammy ones). I did it during couple of weeks and then sent a message directly to the admins of the pages, telling them something like:

          "Hi there,

I just wanna send you a short message to let you know that I really love your page. You are doing an amazing job and this is why I keep coming back and posting on your wall. As you may have seen, I am really active on your page and always try to post quality things. I have created my own FB page sharing beautiful photos of our world and I would really appreciate if you can share one of my post and invite your fans to visit it. It will really encourage me and motivate me to post more amazing photos on your wall

Thank you in advance and keep up the great work!

          Ben
          "

The most important thing is to share high quality contents. In this way, page admins will see that you "stand out" with your posts. Don't ask them to share your posts right way. Wait couple of weeks, post regularly on their wall and let them see that you are active and "good" for their pages. Admins won't always reply to you, but it has worked pretty well for me so far

Quality beats Quantity 7 Days a Week. Still, people are more likely to "like" a FB page if they see a nice following is already in place. Such tricks are not new. What is key, is having solid socials to engage with an "active" social following. Best way to nurture this is via a well honed Content Marketing strategy

I have done something very similar using only photos. A great way to attract traffic to your page and to your site. You can even increase the likes of this method by liking peoples comments on the picture.

Don't go to crazy on this, but like the comments that are worthy. The person that made the comment will get notified that you liked their comment which will hopefully attract them back to the page and like it.

There is HUGE potential in a method like the one described. Nice work Deezign!

I think you actually don't get it. You don't have to add anyone. We are not talking about Facebook profiles here. We are talking about Facebook pages and how to get more "likes"

    Hi NameThatCandy,

This strategy isn't really depending on the number of fans you have. It is more about the nature (and the quality) of your post. Even if you have only hundreds of fans, if your post goes viral, your fans will share it. Then their friends will share it as well (and so on). This will give a huge exposure to your page.

Regarding your second question, you can make your page a link by tagging it in your post. To tag it, simply use "@" ans start typing the name of your page.

In my case, I would have to type @Amazing World.

When you will start typing the name of your page, a drop down menu will be displayed, given you the possibility to select your page (or another one).

    Hope it helps

    Ben

The reason I asked, because I just started a fan page, I don't even have 10 fans yet. So I just don't know will my post be able to go viral with such a small fan bases?

And thanks for the tips for the "page link". I will try it tomorrow.

If you have only 10 fans (so far), I would recommend you to share your "viral post" on your page, then use FB as your own profile, visit your page and re-share your post on your own FB Timeline (in this way your friends will also be able to see it - and the post will link to your page anyway).

I would also recommend you to share your post on other big pages for more visibility

Interesting images. I have a question about how you got those "Likes." How do you post that page to other pages? And how do you get them to link back to you FB Page? I see a lot of email regarding getting fans to one's FB page but there's not a lot of substance to these emails. Any help would be appreciated.

      Hey Joe,

Here is the way I usually do it:

      ---------------------------------------------------

      YOUR PAGE:

      1) I create my page and add a nice/professional timeline banner and avatar (this is really important to "stand out").

      2) I then start adding a lot of high quality contents to my page. Why? Simply because this is how I create value. As you may know, people will "like" your Facebook page only if they find value in it. Having great contents is definitely the way to do it.

      3) I diversify my posts.

Giving that your page is brand you, don't focus only on "big pages".

      Ben"

It has been working pretty well for me so far. If you follow all these step, you will definitely be able to develop your fan base.

      Cheers!

      Ben

This would be absolutely pointless because people on these sites are now using fake profiles to "like" pages. Moreover, they will "like" your page only to get "points" and not because they love it. This is why those kind of fans won't be active at all.

I wanted to have 100,000 Facebook fans for my blog. I don't have a product to sell. I'm not trying to get advertisers on my blog. I'm not even trying to get more speaking gigs because of my blog. But I believe in the message of my blog and I enjoy having an audience for it. So I wanted to expand that audience.

We have entered the "Choose Yourself" era. No longer do you have to wait for the big media companies to reach down from the heavens and bless you with a column, a book advance, a TV show, a job, a career, money, or even customers. In 2008 the tide came in, the financial system collapsed, and we saw that the myth of corporate safety was just another example of the brainwashing that we had undergone since we were kids.

[See also: "Self-publishing your own book is the new business card"]

Now, if you want to spread the truths of your brand, of your ideas, of your products, of your message, you have to create your own platform, you have to spread it across all media, and then you have to manage each medium differently. I can't just link my blog posts on Facebook. Or tweet links to my posts on Twitter. Your message has to be spread across the entire digital landscape and treat each medium as its own channel, with your message, formatted, designed, and massaged to have the greatest impact in that particular channel.

To contact page admins, you need to be logged in as yourself (personal FB account). If you are logged in as your page, you won't be able to see the "Message" button (usually located next to the "like" button).

Please also note that admins have the possibility to display or hide the "message" button. This is why you won't be able to find it on all pages

In any social media sites it's important that you should understand what your followers really want and what you can offer them. You should also try to find out what they think about you and your products and services. You should always learn about your followers needs.

I just want to say I have been reading this thread and I used a similar---700 likes in one day!!! I need to keep doing this. Does Facebook limit the amount of posts you can do on other pages---especially if you are posting the same text? Or sending the same text in messages. (I am thinking like Craigslist where they can tell you are sending the same message X times)

Now--I am not monetizing this yet---as I am just getting this page going, but I am going to direct to an ecommerce store--and the people liking my page currently know I sell things. So hopefully we see conversions too!

      Hi Amanda,

When I share a photo on my page, I always give credit to photographers, adding their name, websites and FB page (when they have one). I do this so they can get more exposure, traffic and... sales. This is why most photographers end up "liking" my page and asking me to share more of their photos Since the creation of my page (in January 2012), I only had one photographer who asked me to remove her photo. When I did it, she apologized and asked me to share it again.

Yes and you need to understand them. Big pages usually receive hundreds of messages from people asking them to share their FB page. The thing is, these persons have never "contributed" to their FB page. They just come and ask. This is definitely not "polite" and even I wouldn't promote a page from someone who has never posted anything on mine. If you want big pages to re-share your page, you need to deserve it. You need to show them that you are active and posting quality stuff on their FB pages (without asking them to share your page). This is what I did. It took some time but it paid off at the end

Are the posts you are making comments within existing posts or are you creating your own posts from scratch and then they go in right side that say "others posts"? I think a lot of page owners shut off photo posting to avoid inappropriate images or copyright issues so was wondering on this.

      Hi Debbie,

Thank you for your post. When I share a photo (on my page or another one) I always give credits to the photographer, giving his name, website and FB page (when I can find one). This is why photographers usually end up liking my page because I give them more exposure

Regarding your question, I was posting high quality photos on the page directly (not within existing posts). I was spending hours on internet to find awesome (and little known) facts and tried to find photos to illustrate them. Because I was only posting great things, page admins started to re-share my posts (because they realized that I wasn't there to "spam" but to bring value to their page).

You are right, a lot of pages shut off the photo posting function. However, they (usually) do it when they are famous (with hundred of thousands fans). I am personally not planning to do it because a lot of photographers use my FB page to share their work. It is also a great way for me to select new photos to share
