8 year olds get a million likes overnight
This is old news now, but I remember reading on Mashable about a band of under 10 sisters who put out a request for a million likes so that they could convince their dad to get them a puppy. If I remember correctly they got to the 1 million mark literally overnight!

I know plenty of people here would kill for results like those, but what can we take away from this? Was this an elaborate ploy or was it just a stroke of luck/genius. Even if it was luck, the spew of parodies that followed would indicate otherwise, because they also ended up gaining some traction
