How do you promote your brand on social media - Using Hashtags?

I've been using hashtags with social media networks, and the only luck I have had is Instagram.

With Instagram, I put up a post and had LOTS of different hashtags related to my post, and I got like 4 likes within the next day.

I was like, hmmmm... I'm on to something here... maybe I need to market more using these SEO tactics.

Tried to do the same thing on Google+ and Twitter, and its not working.


I just can't figure out how marketing on Google+, Pinterest, and Twitter works.
I put in my hashtags, and my posts are not being even viewed.

    For Twitter use 2 hastags per post and keep your post right at about 100 characters. Less is more on Twitter.

    For Instagram interactions highest with 11+ hashtags.

    For Facebook interactions better 'without' a hastag, believe it or not. I'm going to stop using it on FB.

    Google+ interaction better with relevant hastags.

    Maybe your hashtags are too general on Twitter. Trying tweaking them a bit to stand out, but make sure its a hashtag that people are interested in.

    I don't use hashtags much on Facebook too, on G+ I try to use 1 general hashtag and it gets viewed, also I post it on a G+ community which gives it a nice view to other. On twitter, you might have to be a little more specific. Use more of the popular hashtags, you'll see some of them on the popular suggestions.

    My hashtags are only works in Twitter.. Never worked in Facebook and Pinterest

    I would stick to 1 or 2 hashtags on Twitter and post often. Like someone else said, less is more on Twitter, so shorter, witty posts with 1 - 2 hastags works best for me.

    Seems like you're using hashtags to say, "HEY LOOK AT THIS" instead of, "You guys are taking about this topic and here's my contribution to that conversation." Try that approach and you'll have more success.

    I also monitored that the hashtags worked only over the twitter and not at other major social networking websites, in my case most of the common and highly used hashtags works because of the niche I'm dealing with.

    Some of them are #money, #makemoney, #affiliate, #makemoneyonline etc
