Automtically following email signups on Twitter
What do you guys think about automatically following leads from a business twitter account when they come in through a call to action or contact form? We can do this by using 3rd party apis and email to twitter handle lookups.
I've built this for my company over at inboundnow.com but my business partner doesn't love Twitter like I do, so his faith in this being a selling item is low.
But this as a tactic, can be installed into eCommerce systems, contact forms, newsletter signups, etc and powered organically.
It's my thinking that business Twitter accounts are not used for following celebs or consuming content as much as they are used for distributing content and replying to direct messages and mentions, so following customers automatically would be smart for improving relative follow backs and improving social networks.
