Warrior Forum Content Auction Section

Hey Powers That Be!

Is it at all possible for you lovely folks to launch a new sub-forum of the WSO section called Content Auctions? Or just Auctions in general for everything where people can bid and one winner gets it?

I host content auctions for brand new, never before used reports, article packs, etc., on one of my sites and sometimes it gets crazy ($400+ for a 5-pager). I would LOVE to have the extra exposure in the WF for these packs instead of doing it on my site only and I wouldn't mind sharing a cut of the sale, obviously - or paying up front for a listing fee.

For my buyers, for example, yes, they could go hire a ghostwriter, but then there's the whole back and forth instructions, wait time, etc. With readymade content, it's done - ready to go right that second.

Things as a seller I would like to see IF you ever decide to do this:

Give me the ability to set the time of auction from 1-7 days.

Give me the ability to set the increment price (I like $5 increments personally).

Give me control over minimum starting price or Buy It Now pricing.

I think this would be a GREAT idea - especially for writers who have no list yet, and even for established people. I make anywhere from $10 (if it flops) to $100+ per page (if I have a hot niche topic).

Purty please?
Tiff

It would be like ebay and iwriter made a baby . Not a bad idea--not sure I'd do any auctions, but maybe a money-maker for WF.

Not a bad idea but chances are, people might rewrite your content instead of bidding. I see no difference between ready made content and PLR content. Correct me f I'm wrong.

That's called stealing. Any time you release and distribute content you run the risk of pirates grabbing your work and re-distributing it.

Ready made content does not necessarily carry a license to modify it or put your own name on it. Typically, resale rights products must be resold as is. So there is a big difference between the two.

I know that Steve but it's hard to control people from doing it.

Great idea, Tiffany. Maybe this should have gone in the suggestion section? I know I wouldn't offer material but it is possible I may participate. Anything that makes this forum better is a good thing.

I've been thinking about this for a while. I wondered if it would work.

I like to write but I have no desire to do it for peanuts, for hire. I would like to create content and put it up for auction though. I think I might get more like what it's actually worth.

    Will you post a link?

You're wrong. LOL Just teasing. But you are, only I wasn't being mean

Actually, I don't SHOW people the content. So there's no way they can do jack squat with it. My auction sites have a listing, like this for instance:

      New 1 Owner Content Auction:

This 5-page, 2,435-word brand new, never before used short report is about How to Make Money on Video Submission Sites. It starts out with a short introduction and then covers the following topics:

      - How to make money on YouTube
-How to make money on Vimeo...etc.

There is tons of affiliate commission potential for you with this short report and I've included links to all of the affiliate programs so you can quickly and easily put this report to use. Only ONE buyer gets it. Bidding lasts 24 hours and the winning bidder has 24 hours to pay for the content before it gets offered to the next person in line.

That's a sample. Now I personally already have a reputation for my writing but if you were new, you could always offer a sample article that is a blanket sample - NOT part of the actual content being auctioned off.

Sorry, a link to...? My auction site doesn't have anything new right this second but I'm working on 5 new ones and it popped into my head that I'd rather do them here. Plus, my auction site might work better because I have a list already.

      Note to WF:

Also, if it's a no go on the section, would you be opposed to me running an auction WSO where the bidders bid for it right there in the WSO section by posting their bid?

      Thanks! Tiff

My boat exactly--because writing for offline is so lucrative I can't justify writing unique articles for $25-50. Too much time invested for too little money. I would be interested in seeing how an auction would play out...

When freelancer took over, I suggested an auction format available for Sites for Sale also. It would be an interesting development to have auctions for sites, content, whatever.

Of course, in Complete Sites for Sale, some have auctioned their site off. It's an easy enough workaround to do. People just place their bid as a post and the highest bidder wins. Seller sets reserve if any, BIN price, and time auction will end, etc.

Ah cool so it IS allowed like that?

Awesome. I agree, it seems like a win-win for everybody. WF makes more, we make more, and marketers get access to more.

This is a great idea Tiffany!
I'll chat to you more about how you see it working and I'll talk to our team to see how would work on our side.

        Thanks!

Sorry Suzanne...I must have missed your suggestion in regards to the "Complete Sites for Sale" section. That's a great idea!

        Thanks for your suggestions.

Not only is it a great idea for WF, Alaister, but it could be really big. Flippa has been without serious competition for a long time and people are really dying for an alternative. With the traffic that WF gets, I think a proper auction format for Sites and Domains and Content for sale would really provide that alternative. Don't forget ... people loved Flippa the most when it was Sitepoint, not Flippa.

I also think it's important for the bidder to have some privacy of sorts. Especially with IM content, sometimes the marketers don't like their audience (which resides here often) to see they're buying outsourced content.
