Notification emails broke

The emails that notify us about new posts in a given thread suddenly stopped working correctly this morning. Their subject line used to match that of the thread; now they mention the poster's username. (This means that GMail, et. al., can no longer organize all of the emails for a given thread into a single conversation.) The full content of the new post used to be in the email, and has now been replaced by a tiny excerpt. (Thus, I can't immediately see if a given post is something that I'd already read previously when I was on that thread.)

Please revert this functionality back to where it was before. This new behavior is highly annoying, and is pushing me to simply auto-send the entire lot to some little-used folder.

Yeah ... just came here to complain about the same thing. And the unsubscribe link is now missing from the email as well. There's just a tiny snippet of the reply.

Can you please just restore it to the way it was

So I noticed that warrior changed the configuration of how the subject line is output. Now I can only see the user name of the person that commented.

    THANKS WARRIOR!!

You have saved me tons and tons of time and money. See I use to be interested in many threads here. Especially WSO threads that I am considering buying but looking for feedback in the thread first. So as a result of your change. I will save tons of my time and money. See now that I cant read the subject line.. I will ignor them. This will save me tons of time that I use to waste reading the thread and then buying the WSO.

Along with that...It will also save more time from commenting or participating in threads since I don't want my user name plastered all over a billion outgoing emails.

So again warrior great job and thanks...you have unknowing saved me precious time and money!!

    That's my 2 cents.

PS... so my suggestion is.... put it back the way it was.

Thank you. Could I ask you to please move this post to the other thread so that everything is all in one place:

      Much appreciated!

[Note that this post was originally made in response to the prior one being placed in a separate thread, and both were subsequently moved to this one.]

I don't know how to do that... I think only moderators can do that stuff.

      Unless you know how.

Thank you for your feedback in regards to this.
We've changed the subject line back to:

    Reply to thread "{Thread name}"

We've also included the entire reply in the email notification instead of just the snippet.

Let me know if things don't go back to the way they were.

Yay! And I noticed you included the unsubscribe link too - classy.

I must say, I'm a bit impressed! Your take away from this could be "Jeez, these guys really ARE hardcore Warrior Warrior Fans!!

Ya.. I must say... I am impressed. This is the first time I have ever given feedback.. and change was actually made as a result of it.

        Big thumbs up for Warrior.

          Thanks for your feedback!

We wanted to make those notifications more useful but as a result broke what you guys were all use to.

Well, to be honest Alistair, the WF Username in the title was kind of cool. If I see a username I respect has answered to a thread I'm in (or watching) that would be of extra interest to me. You can leave that in if you like.

Once again - super impressed by your reversal. There's a lesson in that for me.

The problem with having the username in the subject line is that it will break the grouping of the notifications per thread.

              Thanks

Ok, yes, I see - good point. Leave it as it was/is - it's perfect now. Thanks.
