I agree, these banners highlighting the War Room and WAMA are just way to over-sized to the extent of being way "In you face" please change them as I highly dought whether the wider membership would approve of them.

I like it, but banners are too big ...
I get the idea but my first impression of the new home page with the images is spam.

Like you're trying to hard to get attention. I do think having an image is OK but they are so over sized they are rude. lol

May I suggest a more discrete and subtle approach by trimming them down to a slimmer dimension? They are so big they look totally out of place and desperate!

Thanks for your feedback guys. I do agree the images are too big. We're working on getting some smaller ones which won't be as tall.

We're tweaking the banners to find the right level.

They're still to tall.

If you look at the overall dimensions of all the other on page elements they don't match at all which really makes them look out of place.

Another thing that makes them look out of places is that the rest of the sections of the forums don't have images.

They also leave a monstrous blank space in the latest post section which makes them look even more out of place.

Try 75 to 85 pixels high this should make the image look more congruent....

or....

add more recent posts to fill the big blank space. That section just looks bad with all the blank area.

It'll take getting used to seeing the front page look like that, but the new size is an improvement over the originals.

Yeah, the new graphics blend much better.

The main problem was how much the last set looked like spammy adverts. Being marketers we especially hate spammy looking adverts. We associate them with spammy offers which we see too many of in our daily lives (often putting them up lol).

Moving the Warroom up seems a good idea to me. It's one of the assets that you want to be prominent, so I can't see people's problem over that.

Here's a suggestion - when viewing the list of threads in any forum, in the last post column there used to be a gray button to click to go to the last post. Now it's a GT symbol > and for us old farts who are half blind it's hard to see.

What I think would work better is a small, black button with the > on it. Not a big deal, but more often than not I end up clicking the last poster's name and ending up at their profile rather than the last post.
Sorry, I have to be honest here but they look dreadful. It's like the owners are pushing the sections on it's users and that is not cool, we all have eyes and can read the section names without the need of big ugly looking graphics. Frankly, since seeing the new owners take over everything has been clearly pushed on Warriors. You see threads in the news sections declaring the new changes, yet they tell us we listen to your feedback at the same time.

Not the case IMHO as I only see forced changes being put into place, if they were to create threads with polls and actually show some respect asking Warriors if they want to see certain things, well, I feel that would come across better as it would actually look like they listen, not the case however as it's all being pushed into our faces. I know where the door is and I'm 99.9 I'll be using it soon and won't be back.

Don't worry I won't let it hit me in the ass on the way out, I'll be keeping my eye out for new alternatives most likely. Moving the sections to the top was one thing but with those ugly graphics, frankly, it's just annoying and I cant stand some of these ridiculous changes, example:

But hey who am I to complain, right?, I'm just a guy that has been here since 2010.

Take care!

I don't think the front page is dreadful anymore since they made the graphics blend and a lot smaller. It was pretty dreadful in the first round. But someone in a thread was wanting to join the War Room and just asked what happened to it. They couldn't find it. lol. It wasn't where it's always been, and apparently they just ignored the big graphics. http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...-war-room.html

It's the other things that should be fixed, like search still not working as it should, no icon for threads that you are participating in, removed social icons from the area under your info in the post areas, so people can't connect with you on your social networks, really lame nearly invisible smileys. People complaining about different navigation buttons they used not working, like buttons or links to go to last post in a thread (never used this so don't know what link they're talking about).

Yes, pretty much everything you mentioned. That 1 thread is not really enough to want to move the complete section up though, sorry, but I mean that is 1 single person and frankly we all know everyone can see the section, well, those that can read anyway lol! I still think it makes the forum look spammy and pushing the VIP on it's users. Just my two cents.

Yeah ... I know that's not enough to move it back, but I just thought it was funny that it's so "in your face" now and someone asks where it is. I don't feel like that stuff is being "pushed" on me as much as it is for newcomers. Doesn't bother me that they're promoting the areas that make money for them, but the inaction on the things that got tossed or broken that people used a lot does irk me a bit.

Re: Warrior Forum Design Changes

You know that banner at the top of the front page? I don't know about now, but it used to change every time the page loaded in the browser. So the banners rotated, and if you didn't click the ad right away you missed out.

Well, there's this link that says "View All" in small print. Clicking on that used to take you to where you could see all the specials on offer that took turns on the front page. I used to click on that if something had caught my eye but I clicked off to go inside a sub-forum and go to the ad, giving me a second chance to go to the banner ad in question.

Now when I click on the "View All" it takes me to a page that looks like it's expecting ME to UPLOAD a banner to be displayed. So I don't to view whatever I originally missed on the front page anymore.

Not that it hurts me any.

But it's shorting the banner advertisers who paid to be there . . .

** UPDATE **

Must have been a glitch, although it seemed to last for more than a week . . . because just after making this comment it now seems to work the way it used to. Hopefully whatever it was stays fixed.

Dude, they spent 3.2M purchasing it, so I don't see how it's unreasonable for them to do what they want. No matter what they do, a given percentage of the membership is not going to like it.

They did create a thread like this and guess what? Very little member participation.

I'm kinda surprised at that response, although you're certainly welcome to come and go as you please.

The WF isn't really all that fundamentally different from the original at this point. Yes, there are things that they're still addressing

I do agree the cartoonish guy on the right is a bit goofy, but they may just be testing it.

But you're not the guy who just invested a few million to buy it, so ultimately, you're not risking anything at all by complaining or leaving.

These guys are obviously very successful, so rather than complain, it might be worthwhile to see what they bring to the table. It's not really costing you anything at this point...
we're all entitled to our opinion

The biggest change that is terrible is that you can no longer tell posts apart

new posts since last visit, hot threads, posts I posted in, etc.

It ruins the whole forum, except the sections that are money generators. They have transitioned WarriorForum from a forum of and for warriors that made some money for the owner to a pure moneymaking play.

Started out by doing things like starting this thread, ignored member response and listened to the bean counters about how to focus on maximizing the $$$ it could generate.

Every time I logged in to WF....

I heard Prince's 1999 playing in the back of my mind....

Now, the look and feel is more 21st century....

Nice work, guys and gals!

How about an affiliate program for "War Room Members"?

Maybe $5 for the first year or 10% forever.

Lol obviously you haven't looked at their history of acquirements. The last webmaster forum they purchased had major changes done to do it - they even changed the name of the whole think.

To make a long story short, that forum doesn't even exist anymore. The domain is just redirected to Warrior Forum as if it never existed.

Thanks for fixing the multiquote button problem. It didn't show any indication that it had been pressed right after the initial design but now it does. Without that indication it was harder to keep track of who all you wanted to quote.

I know that this is not correct but if there is a chance to change red color page to another manually for each user because sometimes my eyes really got tired and I need to close web site. Again, this is only visual change but red color annoys me a bit.

Well,
We're now in August and the Terms of Use, Privacy, DMCA notices at the bottom of the pages all lead to... a # (e.g. the top of the same page).
Maybe the time has come to correct this?
I would also suggest that you add to those links one that leads to the general WF Rules.

I think you guys really need to implement mobile friendly design to WarriorForum. I have problem managing my threads or sending/replying PM using my phone.
