Fellow warriors and designers! I'd really appreciate your opinions on the two test pages below. From a pure design viewpoint, which menu style do you prefer?

And for those who suggest not using navigation on a sales page I'm already clued in. My sales page will have links only at the bottom.

Thanks for your opinions!

I vote for the horizontal menu. I think its easier on the eyes when I want to find something.

  • I would advise you have both a horizontal nav. and a vertical sidebar nav.

Yes, just to be confusing. I'd like to see it with both.

Vertical CAN mean the visitor doesn't have to go all the way back to the top of the page, so I like that aspect. But, I'm not crazy about the style of the one you used. Something cleaner, like the horizontal example, would be nicer.

    Hi,
I am definitely attracted to the second link. The flow is excellent, the tabs across the top is an excellent way to have structure and supply the viewers with easy access to the various options. I really liked the color blocking in the second link. I found the first link with all the 'hot' titles immediately felt like I had to 'work' to get the info and for most people that would be a turn off. I really prefer how you laid out the information in the second link! I definitely prefer the second link!
    All the best, Liane Fitzpatrick
