Posting affiliate links in wordpress

I feel stupid asking this. I tried to research as much as possible.. got a few html books, google searched till no end but some reason I still can't successfully post my affiliate link on my hosted wordpress page. I signed up through commission junction and then found a program through them. I'd like to post one of that merchants banners on my site. When I open up the "get html" window there are two things; the "code" and the "image url". This is where it gets confusing for me. I tried about twenty different ways to post the code to go with the image link but all i get when viewing my page is the actual code or a broken link. I tried the "add new link" function in wordpress but it never recgonizes that I added a new link for some reason. I've spent the last 3 hours trying to do this after studying how to do it for the last few days and I still cant get the link up. Please help! Thanks.

    Hi,

    What you should do is use a WYSIWYG editor like KompoZer, insert the image and hyperlink it. You can then copy the source code and enter it into a post or the sidebar of wordpress.

    When I need codes of any sort, I usually go to W3 school's website and go to the HTML section.

    You should try kompozer to insert your affiliate links in WP it too easy to do..

      Hey there,

      You could go to the HTML side in wordpress,

      and add

      <a href="this would be your affiliate link">Text for the link</a>

      It's as easy as that,

      If your using an image.... in the WYSIWYG you can just ad an image and then select it and use the create link icon in the toolbar.

      No need for kompozer if you using wordpress.

      Could you post the code you are trying to link? Is it in <script> tags?

        Thanks Carlo... that worked!! I could have sworn I tried that method before I posted this question.. but I must have tried everything but that way!! Thanks again! Atleast it helped another new forum user aswell!
        Thanks for everyone's suggestions. I'll def look into KompoZer for hyperlinking images.
