Im having a problem trying to figure out how to do something.

What I want is in my right sidebar I have to have a categories section where you click on the link and it takes you to another page.

My problem is that I can't figure it out.

First of all I have pages on my top nav bar, so when I create a page for my different categories the page ends up on the top nav bar which I dont want.

I thought that I could create a page and maybe hide it so it doesnt show up on the nav bar but there is no hide option. There's only public, password only, and private. I tried setting on private but when I would click on the link in my categories it would take me to my page and right beside the title it has big word PRIVATE which is want I dont want.

So can anyone help me out on trying to figure this out please?

I would suggest using the new custom menus feature that came out with Wordpress 3.0. Super easy to use. Search my YouTube channel (username: tknoppe) and I have a video there showing you how to use the custom menus.

In a nutshell: custom menus allows you to pick and choose which pages appear in your navigation - you can even combine pages and posts/categories within the same navigation menu!

You can also use custom menus as sidebar widgets, so even if your theme isn't coded to use custom menus as the primary navigation, you can still use custom menus for widgets in your sidebar.
