Web Design Software?

I think now a day dreamviewer is very popular and very nice.

Learning basic HTML and CSS is gonna help you more along with Notepad ++

It depends on what you want to accomplish.

For a flash site, look into Wix (.com).

To code HTML, CSS, PHP, etc check out a syntax highlighted application, like Dreamweaver (paid) or Notepad++ (Notepad++ | 5.8.7).

If you want to spend the money, the best is DreamWeaver.

If you want a good free option go with NVU.

If you want a program that is basic but will do most of the work for you try Artisteer.

I started with dreamveaver 4 many years ago,
Im on cs5 now
the split code/ design window taught me basic HTML code...
Im still an amateur but use dreamweaver when I need to.
also you can get some great CSS plugins from places like webassist etc, do a google cause some are cheaper than others.
These can do a lot of auto css styling for you..which was great for me as I havent learnt much CSS.

Mind you for most of my sites now I use WP, because I can use it as CMS or static homepage and still has blog function all in one homogeneous site install.
I use premium themes tho and frameworks with child themes etc so that I can tweak and design to be original..just learning how to make my own css type page templates to add to sites
site design is never ending for a self taught amateur cause I just get a handle on it an the tech changes up again!!!
But really, get some core skills with DW, I also use notepad++ for php and css tweaking, free NVU is pretty good for html but I found sometimes it messed up any PHP I had in there.
Artiseer I used when first starting WP design, you can churn out some decent designs easily once you play woith it, even the preset designs are good and better than some othewr programs Ive looked at...
The only problem I found is if you want to do html sites, ( ie not WP or Drupal) it is hard to find a HTNL program tha can render artisteer template correctly.
This means after you have made site template it is very difficult to edit and ad custom content.
If any one knows a HTML program that can do this please spak up now !,
In dreamweaver it formats wrong and tho you can edit its hard to see whats happening..
I tried several others but had the same problem
I guess if you know HTML thoroughly and just use a HTML text editor program,
Ie- no design view- it maybe ok- but if your like me the design view is imperitive to see what your doing as you work along.
If your a graphics orientated then Photoshop and Fireworks are good, I use them to make headers and backgrounds but full on designers make whole site templates then split them up.

google around CSS and web design, Jquery and java --there is a lot of free stuff and basic training around the web design communities---they are not so marketing orientated!!

I use Dreamweaver and flash for web design and both have many features to create best web pages. Adobe photoshop is also fine for picture design. And I have all the latest version.

Adobe dreamweaver is best web designing and developing software where you can edit or customize your site easily. W3schools also recommended this software when you are going to design your site.
