Does HTML code need to be modified when inserting Amazon product links?

I have a wordpress site and am trying to insert product links from Amazon.

Amazon gives you the image and the HTML code which you are supposed to just copy/paste but does it need to be changed for it to work? Currently it doesn't work without modification.

Specifically, I'm thinking maybe the image source part of it needs to be changed to reflect the image url...

So, what exactly is the code that you tink it has to be modified?

    Are you putting it in:
    - a post/Page content?
    - a plugin settings?
    - a sidebar widget?
    - or...?

When into posts/Pages you can NOT use the monster wysiwyg (Visual) editor. Ever! Diasable it in your user profile! Paste code only into the HTML editor.

The code's going into either posts or pages.

I'm not sure if you've used the Amazon product links before but their instructions are to simply copy/paste the code into the webpage where you want the link to appear.
Going by their instructions no link whatsoever appears on the page/post that's why I'm thinking of modifying the code.

This is the best investment I have seen in ages - For just $1.00 you can get 4 coaching sessions - And the coaching is from internet marketing legend Chris Record.

Exactly what I was looking for..thanks

In your tutorial you are saying to pull the image url from the Amazon website but couldn't you also save the image to your server and use that file url?

Adriana - is it allowable under the TOS to link to the image on the Amazon server? The only reason I ask is that it specifically tells you to save the image to your own server. Seems to me that if you were allowed to link to theirs they would just include the full code as they do for the other image types.

I checked and double checked and didn't find anything saying you can't. If you are aware that it is against TOS I'd appreciate if you pointed it out.

If you think about it, their text and image (enhanced display) uses a direct link to the image on Amazon.
