Hello,

Need some help here, at the bottom of my WP site page it has

"edit this post logged in as XXXXX"

If you click on it it goes right to my site so anyone could edit and alter it.
How do i remove or what is wrong?
thanks,

I think you'll find that only shows to you as you are logged in.
Try viewing the site without logging in.

    • yeah, log out first and clear your cookies+cache, then refresh the page. Or alternatively open the same page in a different browser. Shouldn't be there anymore.

No. You are NOT logged out if you see the Edit link. You think you are but you are not...

          thanks,
Well, yeah, exactly. That's what I said "clear your cache and cookies" after hitting the sign out button. Also, with "new browser" I mean a completely different browser, not just a 2nd tab or window in firefox.

          To make it really foolproof:

          1.) Download CCleaner: http://download.piriform.com/ccsetup303.exe
2.) Go to your wordpress site, click "sign out" and close all browser windows
3.) run CCleaner and have it clear cache, cookies, browser temp data etc.
4.) start up your browser again, navigate to your page
          5.) ???
6.) Profit (i.e. the edit post link shouldn't be there anymore)

Yep, only admins see Edit Post link. Your browser is still caching your cookies. If using PC, the CC Cleaner works.

Sometimes Macs take an extra push if using Firefox. Go to Firefox > Preferences > Privacy and be sure settings are set as you want and click "Clear Your Recent History" to check off all items that are cached.

Then, try going to your website's domain and see what shows up for you.
