Trouble submitting Sitemap

I have tried to submit my sitemap with Google Webmasters Tools and it is returning an error message that says "Sitemap is HTML". Can anyone please advise me on how to correct this problem? Thank you in advance!

      Thanks haymanpl, but this site was developed in Drupal..i have figured out that I need to create a sitemap in .xml. I have zero experience with building websites and the designer that has been working on this site is telling me that it will cost $55 to install a module to do this. Any thoughts? At this point I am seriously considering some good ol' self-education to perform small tasks such as this on my own. However i am very busy and I dont know that my time is best spent doing this. Suggestions??
