How much can i charge for a website designing. How for should one design a website? Is it about installing all the plugins and the template. please advice.

How much you should charge not only depends on how much work you are doing but also what your competitors are charging. Try to find out your local competitions prices and take it from there.

Alternatively you could give your clients a free site (good selling point) where the site is free to set up but they pay you a set monthly recurring fee for hosting and administrating the site.

What you should charge should be based on your actual costs. This not only includes tangibles but those things you can put a hand on like your time and the time you have invested in learning your trade.

Also, becoming proficient and learning to automate most of your tasks will lessen the amount of time you need to spend coding a new website for a client. This reduced amount of time means you can pass those savings on to the client but doesn't mean you need to work for dirt cheap either. Charge what you think is fair for your time and the true value you are offering.

I design most of my websites for what many consider too cheap but I focus on long term commitments that offer recurring payments that provide a lot of residual income. Things such as hosting and regular maintenance or on-going SEO work. It's a business model that I have figured out along the way and it works for me.

  Well I design according to client demand what he want in his wesite, from that I charge. The more thing you do, you should charge high but at the same time you have to think about your competetors how much they are demanding.

The charge for website design depends upon the work required in it. It totally depends upon the requirement of the client, and after going through it, the charge is calculated.

Hi,

Most of the Guys gave you good recommendations.What my personal experience is get it on hourly basis.Ask the client to give complete specifications.You count your estimated time and ask for the price you think it best.

All of the above are very good advice. Perhaps you should learn designing first before charging though? Cause from this "Is it about installing all the plugins and the template. please advice." I got the feeling you don't know how to design/build websites yet.

I think first you should observe local competitors and also market status. And it also depend on client requirement, your service policy etc.. Then you should take right decision.

  yes !!!! I think you are right then i agree with you.......it is nice comment....If it's going to take you 15-20 hours to do, then $125 doesn't seem too good. If you can knock it out in about 5 hours, then it's pretty good.

charges depends on quality of design, professionalism and standards of designing company. at the end of the day, designing should be good looking and as er your requirement.

Well website designing is totally depend on client's requirement. I am also a designer, I designed all website in ASP.net. It's not fixed, according to client's requirement I charged.

You would want to know how much your competitors are charging otherwise, you will have problem advertising where they are promoting their own services.

Generally, design are categorized into several part starting from $130 to $1,000 or more depending on the kind of site you are creating it.
