Adding Most Recent Post's Except to Static Page (Wordpress)

I have been trying to figure out how I can add more most recent blog post's excerpt from a particular category to my static home page.

I have been looking for over a week and can't figure out how to do it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    You're not going to be able to add post excerpts to a static page, unless you install a Featured Posts plugin and display them in a box above your static content (and even then, because it's a page that may be tricky, but I haven't done it so I can't speak from experience).

    Other options would be to use the Killer Recent Entries widget, which will display post titles, (but not excerpts) in the sidebar (KRE enables you to specify the categories you want displaid) or the Recently Popular plugin. Recently Popular will display post titles in the sidebar but you can't specify the categories.
