Hey,
I usually get my squeeze page designed for me but maybe I should learn to set them up myself. What's the easiest way to design an effective squeeze page please?

The best thing with a squeeze page is be entirely focused on the goal: Get them to sign up.

    1. Keep distractions to a minimum
    2. Give them a key incentive
    3. Assure them of security and/or being able to easily unsubscribe

Colour-wise, dark blue carries an authoritative quality, green is a trusting kind of colour, red & yellow have a sense of urgency.

If possible, try to design it yourself - I've seen so many of those squeeze page templates used it's just about sickening...

Thanks Derek. However I was actually wanting the best way to design the squeeze page rather than content. I don't disagree with your idea's though

The points I mentioned can be applied to design as well, however (at least, in my mind...hmmm)

Can I ask more specifically what you mean when you say 'how to design one'? Do you mean what programs to use, where to find necessary images, stuff like that?

I've paid for a generic optimised squeeze page. If you want the url for the site then pm me. Otherwise just google "squeeze page"

I usually do the design in photoshop.
Then divide the layout into parts like top, middle and bottom.
and the design be the background image.

Though sometimes I switch back and forth photoshop and my html editor.

              Hi Rich

Go grab yourself a copy of Nvu (free WYSIWYG HTML editor) and use that.

Just stay in 'Normal' view most of the time. Type your heading, bullets and text etc. and use the toolbar to set the font size and colour etc. just like you would in a word processor.

When it comes to the opt-in form, just copy the code from Aweber (or whatever AR you are using) and choose the 'Source' tab in Nvu to show the code. Paste the code in and then go back to 'Normal' view to check you pasted in the right place.

Quick tip if you're new to HTML. In order to get the opt-in form in the right place (since unlike Dreamweaver, Nvu doesn't always put your cursor in the same place when you switch views) enter a unique string of text in 'Normal' view, something like XXXXXXX then when you go into the 'Source' view just find that string, delete it and your cursor is in the right place to paste in the code!

If you want tables and borders etc. it starts to get slightly more complicated but there are a ton of free resources to learn HTML online and it's well worth the effort.

Just be sure to keep it short, clean, to the point, and don't have any links to the rest of your site!!!

              Bill
