Checking Links To site
Can somebody help with this one.. I have a site called Carp fishing holidays in France and have built 1000's of links to it..
BUT when in google and I type Link:Carp fishing holidays in France it says no links. If i use Links:Carp fishing holidays in France it showas them. I asked a SEO company and they said this below. Anybody agree ???
Try link: instead of links:
See explanation here: Difference between link: and links: command
“Link: operator is the command to see backlinks your site have. but when you type it as links:sitename.com then it is searched like a keyword. I mean to say google will search pages with phrase "link", "links", "sitename" etc. This will obviously show more results because it is now a generalized search query rather than a command.”
And here: Link: or Links: Search - what's the difference? Google SEO News and Discussion forum at WebmasterWorld
“the syntax for the special operator is link:example.com - with no space between the operator and the domain. If you use links: or vary the syntax in any other way, you are performing a regular keyword search for the character string.”
What i am saying here is if Link:www.sitename is correct I have no links and I build 1000's of them and payed people on here money for some of them.. Link:www.sitename can't be right my site has no links ???
