but this one is confusing
is that done with style.css etc?
I think whatever they used is pretty advanced technique

    html/css is a standard with all websites. so the animation is purely jquery - check out their official website for all the cool effects jquery.com

    There seems to be some pretty extensive jquery used to get the fading effects, as well as Lightbox which is a pretty popular javascript function. Jquery can be pretty simple to use once you're familiar with how it works, I recommend going to their website and checking out some tutorials before trying to recreate these effects. Or just download this template and use what you need of the script that's already in there.
