Hi; I am wondering if anyone might know what causes wordpress to show the numbers 12345 at the end of a site for instance
www.mywordpresssite.whatever/advice for the strange 12345

Any ideas ???

    If it's what I think you are taliking about it's how you have
    you your permalinks set up.

    Go to your dash board
    Bottom left Settings>Permalinks

    I think you are asking about the Permalink Structure... you should use custom permalink as /%postname%/

    Conrad, Are you using WordPress SEO by Yoast? If so - look in Titles & Metas and check the corresponding Title Template for the page<s> in question.

    You will see %%sitename%% - %%sitedesc%% - 12345
    Delete the numbers and save
