Wordpress question about missing blog post

I have been trying to post a blog today and I am beyond frustrated. I published it and went to view it, it was there. I even checked in 'show all pages' (it was showing up there,)' but when I visited the site and clicked on the blog, it wasn't there. I have actually had this happen before and I went to re-post and it showed up the second time. Today I tinkered around with it for way too long.


Where should I go to address this? Is it the theme? I looked around the whole site to find out whether it had been posted somewhere else. No, dashboard is saying it's there, but it is not showing up on my computer.

    Are you sure you are "publishing" the posts? You might be saving the post as a "draft" rather than making it live.

    If the problem persists, the reason may be modified "WordPress Loop" query. It means the code used to show the posts might be altered to discard certain type of posts, saqy, posts from one category or a tag.

      I'm absolutely publishing the post. When I first posted it for some reason half of it was gone. It was a new post, but I excerpted part of my other website. I went back to the other site, put it on html view and C&P it to the new post (in html view. In the draft everything showed up fine, including the pictures. In the preview it showed up, and when I accessed the posts through the 'all pages; view, it was there and intact.

      When it published though, it just didn't make it visible from the site.

      So, who should I contact for help? Maybe on the WP forums? I wasn't sure if it was WP or my theme.

    Like 'xtrapunch' said, it would be the blog overview page is coded to prevent displaying posts from specific categories or something. Try adding the post to a different category - preferably one that you've successfully published posts in before that DID show up on the blog page. If your new post then shows up - you'll know it's a coding issue on the blog page preventing it from displaying. That's the most likely issue.

    If the above did not solve the problem, then it would take someone looking at your site configuration to track down the problem.
