Web design software suggestions

This is kind of a loaded question,

First, there is software for design and then there is software for development.

If you want to make graphics I would use Photoshop, if you want to edit code and the layout I would use Dreamweaver.

They're not free, but they are some of the best and most robust software for the web.

Are you referring on website design and development softwares?

Photoshop and Dreamweaver are probably the best tools that we use.

The most common and popular software to edit or code any kind of front end project is to use Adobe Dreamweaver. There is a price tag, but a lot of people pirate it. It's worth it in my opinion.

I purchase the program and always get their updates when they release a new CS.

However, if you can't afford an Adobe made product, there are plenty of free WSIWYG editors on the web.

I think it should be multiple tools combined to the design work done, like dreamweaver, notepad++, adobe cs5, .... and so on.

I used to use dreamweaver to edit files then reupload to server. Then I found out how convenient using Cpanel filemanager was (no uploading). THEN I found Nopepad++ and that was awesome (still had to upload files after..)

Then I found a plugin for Notepadd++ called NppFTP basically just creates a FTP connection to server. You can browse the files on server and whenever you save a file.. (Ctrl+s ) it uploads the file right away. Feels like your working on localhost. love IT!

So go get Notepad++ and use the plugin nppFTP

My personal choice will be Adobe Photoshop latest and Notepad++ for coding. It's not beginner but start to practice and you will improve in no time.

I would recommend using Sublime Text, it's free and made for Developers. Great for editing. Use filezilla (free tool) to connect to your FTP directly. - Lots of tutorial videos on both of these programs
