It's definitely eye catching. Maybe make your margins more consistent. For instance the margin on the left of the content is different from the margin on the right of the content in some places. Perhaps your divs aren't wide enough. You could try a grid system from a framework such as Twitter Bootstrap to make this simpler to accomplish. Try to keep your elements heights consistent as well where there are e.g. 4 divs in a row.

Apart from applying some more consistency with the margins etc, looks good

A nice, colourful and bold website. More text at the top to say what the site is for would be good. Also the footer needs the same effort as the rest of the page.

Great job. Hope the site does well.

    Hey quizfactz,

I took a very quick look at the site and have hopefully a few helpful comments. Overall, I think you are doing well, but I taught web development for many years so of course I have a few comments. These are "quick and dirty" opinions only, so feel free to disregard.

Regarding the horizontal ribbon containing navigation - I would change the color of the non-selected buttons, even just a little, so they don't blend into the gold background gradient as much. You can easily change the hue/saturation to get the right effect to play with multiple options. I see you have a reverse gradient that is opposite of the background ribbon, but I don't think it is enough contrast for many people.

I'm not a big fan of the typeface for the tabs starting with "Latest", "Featured", etc. They are quite hard to read. I would make the typeface a little more in line with your other navigation elements on the page.

On the quizzes - people like to score themselves and compare with friends. It would be ideal if someone could take a quiz and get a grade instead of just revealing the correct answer.

On the surface there doesn't seem to be a benefit to signing in. If your goal is for sign-ups there needs to be an easy-to-see apparent reason for one to do so.

The text on some of the articles like "Scouting for Facts" needs to be a little larger to look more in balance with the rest of the elements on the page and to be legible by your average viewer.

I didn't take a look on a smartphone, but that would be something I would pay special attention to since many many people will only see your site that way.

These were off-the-cuff comments after viewing the site for just a couple of minutes. I hope they help and good luck!

I'd like to hear your comments with respect to usability, look, and so forth.

Was there anything glaringly annoying or something you felt could be improved?

Does the concept match the design?

Any advice along these lines is much appreciated.

(Nature Factz ) is the part of your Hompage. On a my system it's not showing properly, here is showing in compress position. Here we also can't see content of this part. Check your website Thanks

I like the site. I think it looks good. Only thing I find to be an issue is the "Nature Factz" section. It's not displaying properly (Firefox).

Your site is pretty ****ed up in IE8. Everything from your header to basic content. Not functional for a lot of corporate XP users.

development for IE of any version is irrelevant. they lose market share every month. Its completely unnecessary to develop anything for ie.

Thats insane. Millions of corporate users are stuck on XP and IE8. IE8 still has upwards of 12% of the browser market share. If your dev cant use conditional comments and make your site at the least functional, you need a new dev. You go to any successful e-commerce website. It works in IE8. I guess its your choice if you want to turn away customers. =-)

it becomes way too much information after your tabbed panel (technically after the ad below the tabbed panel. Its an incredibly good looking site but like i said it can feel overwhelming with information past the ad.

Did you code everything yourself or did you use a WYSIWYG?

It definitely stands out. The colors are bright and eye catching, but may be a little too bright. I like the layout of the site. All you're missing is a footer. I like the font for the headings, fits well with the overall site and theme of the site. I'd suggest spacing out the menu links though. Right now they are right on top of each other. Overall it looks good though!

A very instinctive part of a design is its color and it plays a major role in stimulating a person's reaction or attitude which may vary from individual to individual.

    Attractive design indeed.

    Great work!

Below is mu suggestions, I hope it can help you.
Firstly, your website took me a lot of time to open it - Reload and reload again...........
Secondly, I think there are too many codes behind your webpage - 3319 lines!
At last, like others said, the footer is too simple compared with other parts of your webpage.

Of course, there are many advantages of your website: such as beautiful colors and attractive effects. However, in my personal opinion, a professional website should pay more attention to their products or services but not only for the appearance.

I actually like the site and felt compelled to browse around. I am a sucker for interesting facts. How about including something like ripleys believe it or not. Something bizzare? People love that. Maybe test different colors too instead of orange and blue.

It's a fun site, but not clear on the target audience. It would be a great site for K-12. However, it needs to be segmented for elementary, mid, and high school. Obviously the quizzes/facts need to be age appropriate and compliment what the kids are learning at that age.

Most important is that you provide instructors on how to use the site to incorporate with classroom instruction.

Instead of ads for senior citizens and bible studies you might want to find a non-profit or corporation to underwrite the project.

The website looks very good. My suggestions would be to put some more dynamic slideshow and add some more info to the footer area like facebook page and twitter profile.

    Hi quizfactz,

as for the design it's engaging and well thought out, although I do agree with many of the suggestions above.

You launched your website about 9 weeks ago and according to some traffic stat websites you're pulling in 1000 unique visitors daily. I don't know accurate that figure is, but you're certainly do well.

With respect to online marketing would you mind giving us some insight into how you achieved this?

  • Very nice, I can see a lot of people enjoying your website. The colors are very appealing to me. If I could think of one thing to improve, increase the size of the text (my eyes are not as strong as they used to be)
