Can anyone tell me what the technique is called on this page where the background changes as the person is scrolling? I'd like to research on how to do this, just don't know what it's called.

    Use javascript, have a browser on change event, then append Background position or image based on where the focus is.

    Or with wordpress use a plugin.


    The site provided however looks like it's just a lot of different backgrounds all the way down the page. If you zoom out you can see them.

    Don't need to make a plugin for it, It's fixed background ( css background-position: fixed ) and between your posts, need to add maring-bottom : 750px;
