    Proper design of the site enhances the message of the site itself.

    It helps in guiding or leading the people to the objective of the site.

    If your design is not well suited it will very easy drive people away from the website.


    Design should be as simple and clean as possible not fancy or complex in most cases. (2-3 colors, 2-3 text fonts and sizes at the most).

    Most people fail with design because they try too hard to make it "look cool" and with this they ruin it.

      Web desing is important, because if your web desing wouldn't be good , it would just drive people away and you will loose traffic.

    Depends. What are you trying to accomplish? What's your budget? These are just rhetorical questions, but in my opinion you can't really answer the question if there's no context. You can have really good website with very minimal design, or in some cases no design to speak of. Or your industry and clientele may require you to have top-notch design.

    I really like Lowriderzzz's line above, and the book recommendation. There's a good point: website is an user interface and good design takes that in account.

    Website conversion is not directly tied to good web design. You may actually hurt your traffic and conversion by renewing a site, even if the new design is much better. This is something I've learned in CRO projects.

    If you want to make your website is unique then you want to make the design. otherwise you can choose any free design. but my suggestion is you want to make design for your site. because the design is unique thing in your site that is different btw others.

    Design is not about price really, you can hire talented that can do good design with affordable price at your budget and there are free templets you can use!
    The design is important for traffic and for trust! if you passed by a website that isnt well designed and not professional most people would never be back..
    Also its important for marketing and branding your business.

    I ask myself that question all the time. I think we all know that it is important, but knowing why its important helps keep me focused on why I do it. I also get caught up in the bells and whistles that actually divert visitors from the real purpose of a site. Web design is important - It is the bridge that brings your intention into reality. The better the bridge, the faster a visitor can sail across it.

    Definitely Web design is important for web site. If your design is not good and profeesional . The people have visite your website will run away. Be careful to make design . First think about your website requireement and then start make design for it.
    With out good looking design you will lose your webiste traffic.
