How do I create affiliate links for my blog post's?

Ok I'm a total begginer, so apologies if the post title is dumb - my website/blog is 90% done and will be ready to go Mid Nov. I have half a dozen blog posts done and at least 30 more ideas. How do I get affiliate links sorted? I assume first step would be create an affiliate program with Amazon? The blog is all about matters relating to healt & fitness, nutrition, training etc. I will be reviewing supplement's etc and would like to provide affiliate links to product;s I personally use.

One good place to start could be the post linked below....it's still valid and gives an overview.

Depending on what you are selling as an affiliate...the platform (such as JVZoo or Clickbank) gives you instructions to create links.

There are other ways - but that thread is a good place to start.

You can Copy and paste. With that being said I would advise you not to post affiliate links in your blog post this early in the game because no one knows you yet .

What you can do is link back to some of your other blog post after you draft and save them .

Or you can link back to another persons blog on your website just as long as it is relevant and useful.

Try building a little rapport with your community first before you ask for the sale.

If you have an online store, I'm wondering why you want to add affiliate links to your blog reviews. Why not just link to the store item?

I'm sorry - I should have made things clear - my store will sell t-shirts. hoodies etc for my own brands, (via a drop shipper) and the blog will be intergrated into the shop site recommending other products ie supplements, books, product's I dont sell on the site.

All you should have to do is sign up with Amazon Associates or any other related affiliate program network, and insert the affiliate links of the products that you want to promote. It's pretty much self explanatory You can hide your affiliate links behind anchor text, or use a free tool like linklyhq to cloak your affiliate links and make it more credible.

OK dumb question - I get the Amazon bit - how do I do it for other companies products (ie not Amazon)? Do I contact them and ask them if they offer an affiliate program?

Re: Amazon, don't do what I did: I signed up for amazons affiliate program and was accepted before i had a network or database of potential clients.

Three months later, though Id been somewhat sharing my affiliate links (like in comments of some of some of my value-offering personal-experience health videos which I then turned into a free course and put the same links there too), got an email from Amazon that surprised me.

It said I had three months more to make ONE sale or they'd remove me from
        the program.

Come to find out I hadn't read the fine print.

They say it might be better to build up your potential clients, contacts, buying subscribers to a fairly big sized amount before you apply to be an Amazon affiliate.

        I agree now. lol

Apparently Amazons approval of you in their affiliate program was a probationary period of 6 months, and you get to stay in it if you make at least one sale in that first six months or they remove you and you need to apply again and create different links. They suggested I increase my network to a huge amount of proven or potential buyers before reapplying, to greatly improve my chances of making at least one sale in the first six months.

This was just this year so it probably still is this way.

Hello Ricky, Affiliate links shouldn't be used for hard selling. Be sure they are relevant to the post's ideas. It should appear as if you are recommending your links personally.
In addition, it's crucial that you explain how clicking your affiliate links will benefit your readers.
Additionally, you need to use the right amount of affiliate links in your content to maintain balance.

Here I will share my thoughts. May be helpful.
      • Actually choose affiliate networks depends upon your personal experience brand products/services.
      • Always focus people pain or needs.
      • Don't sell any products. Just make it buying.
      • Mostly don't use url shortner when you paste affiliate links in your website. May be it banned.
      • Keep an eye on Google algorithms.
      Great, thanks for replying!

Why not join Clickbank. They are a billion dollar company with very high payout rates when compared with amazon. Sometimes as high as 75% when Amazon only goes as high as 4% I believe.
