Howdy.
I just finished making a post in a thread that will be gone in a few short hours, so I think it's appropriate to get my response set in stone on the blog.. haha.
Here it is..
If you are new to the online world I want to make something abundantly clear.
You do not want or need the latest hot software.
You do not want or need the most recent info product.
You definitely don't want or need that $997 "thing" you saw for sale in a webinar.
What you do Want.
In fact.. What you NEED.. are proven Strategies and Tools.
These will be your foundation for a great business. Learn about some different strategies. Find out what some of the recommended tools are for this approach. Try it out (on a small scale) to see if you like it. Sometimes what we imagine things to be like and what they're really like can be quite different.. haha.
Once you have figured out what sort of strategies you want to use to generate income, and which tools you'll want to look at for implementing those strategies, it's time to find an HONEST mentor.
There are lots of them out there if you look. We're not all cold-hearted marketing machines. There are a few of us out there who genuinely want to help others succeed!
Find a mentor who excels in your chosen area of marketing and start building a business using the techniques and tools they use. You might even be able to find a few who offer "official" mentor programs or courses. This can help you if you like a lot of hand holding.
For myself, I watch the actions of those people who I see building the business I want to build. I listen to not only what they have to say, but how they say it as well. I ask myself WHY they say things.. and then I asked myself how I can use what I just learned, from asking those questions, to better myself and my business.
People who are successful in business don't get that way by following step 1-2-3 tutorials. They get that way by being leaders. Use guides to help you if you need them, but don't be afraid to believe in yourself!
