The Price of Success

There is a price to success that is paid in the blood, sweat and tears of entrepreneurs that is necessary through your business career.

Every business when it first opens goes through a honeymoon period where success seems to greet you at every turn. Then, it happens, and you have to start paying the price for your success.
I have had an offline business for more than 20 years. I thought that once we made it through the first 5 years I would be able to retire my Rolaids and actually get a full 8 hours of sleep. But, as the business grew and the challenges changed, so did the amount of stress.
I am not going to tell you it has been an easy road to travel, however, I will tell you that it has been worth it. I have grown and changed into a much stronger woman than I was when I first opened the doors of Southwest Gear.
A couple of years ago I ventured into affiliate marketing online. I have to admit that I was somewhat captivated by the idea that this was supposed to be such an easy route to wealth. But, I knew that there were going to be dues that had to be paid in money spent, blood, sweat and tears.
Even with all of the years of experience that I have in business ownership, I still hold to my "I want it now!" attitude; so, I can't get too upset with the people that I am working with when they ask me how long it takes to make money, to become an overnight success.
Success in life and in business is not a destination, it is a journey.
Along the path you are going to find out who you are as a person. If you are not willing to walk through the fires that present themselves and just decide to quit, success will never present itself to you. If you are willing to scale mountains, to change and to give it your all, success is assured.
You have no option in business but to learn by trial and error. Yes, you can stand on the backs of the giants in the industry and learn more faster but putting them into action will always take tweaking until they fit you and your business.
Be patient with the process and accept the wisdom that it is teaching you. That wisdom is what others are looking for as they start along their path. It allows you to be the light at the end of the tunnel for others.
Paying your dues takes a time commitment. It is not a time frame that you can describe, it happens when and as it happens.
The journey will, at times, be frustrating. You are going to wonder if and when you are ever going to get it right. This is where you have to maintain your belief in yourself and have faith in what you are doing. I can't tell you how many times I have used the mantra, "This to shall pass.", in order to make it through the tough times.
Success depends upon you holding your focus and making an undying commitment to your purpose for your life and your business. In the end, it is worth it to pay the price of your success.
