Some backlinking tips

Yes I'm back again!
I thought today I'd give you some ideas about what does actually work in terms of SEO. I kind of feel I've said a bit (probably too much) recently about the systems that don't work and seem a bit of a rip of so today I'm going to explain a few ways to get backlinks that work and can be used on any site.
First of it's worth saying that if you want your site to rank then you need to have backlinks going to it. Perhaps that's kind of an obvious thing but I thought I'd say it anyway. Thing is it's not just any backlinks you want but quality backlinks.
I know what is a quality backlink. Well the thing is not all links are created equal. Getting a link from CNN or the BBC or some authority site is much better than getting a backlink from Joe's Icream Parlour .com. Google rates the first two highly because they are respected have a ton of visitors and are careful what goes onto their site.
Trouble is getting onto their site is very very difficult. So what to do?
Well there are a few places to go and look. Perhaps the most obvious place is to look at the article directories. The biggest and most respected is ezinearticles.com. So this is your first link. Go there become an author and post an article. Then in the resource box (the bit at the bottom that says who you are) add in a link to your site. Hey presto you get a link. You can post lots of articles to this site and get lots of links.
So why are they respected? Well the thing is you can't put any old rubbish up. The article needs to be good quality and read well. Anything less that good doesn't get published. If you're like me you'll end up as a platinum author which means you can post a lot and quickly too.
Other places to go and look are the other article sites. Prehaps the next one would be goarticles.com. They don't have a review process but are still respected.
You can then go through the other article directories adding articles for links. It's easy pretty quick. Some of the sites I use are:
