WSO sellers breaking the rules of civility?

Over the last few weeks I have purchased a fair number of WSO products as well as some of the OTO products that were also offered, however I have also noticed a very NASTY little trick that some of these WSO sellers have been practicing, which involves selling your email to other marketers.

This is a bad thing, not only for the Warrior Forum, but also for marketing in general.

Not to mention it is illegal and immoral.

There have also been a few conversations, about certain WSO sellers, who have come into the idea that they are entitled to abuse the Warrior Community by attempting to force buyers into what they call a sales funnel, the thing is that the WSO was never designed to be a sales funnel and using it that way is wrong and could actually be illegal.

The problem is that some of these sellers have been treating all buyers like sheeple

(treating Warrior like Animals that have no other function but to buy and be sold to as you would a caged animal is wrong, and these sellers are mad and angry that they have been exposed for what they are charlatans.)

Thieves and Liars? Perhaps that is what some are all about but I suspect that this is a small number of people who are involved in this practice...

The complaints have come about because some and I say "Some" WSO sellers are using a B 2 C approach, (Business to Consumer) Frankly this is somewhat insulting to many buyers here that are also sellers, the idea here is that some people, are behaving badly when it comes to marketing a WSO on the Warrior Forum this should come as no surprise.

Offers how many and how often?

one up or one down as long as it does not interfere with the purchasing process and the buyer should have the option to skip the OTO or other offers, they are (Not) interested in participating in.

That is my Point of view, as both a buyer and a seller, and if your only a seller, then ok, great, but your missing out on a lot around here, not only do I choose to do both but I enjoy supporting this forum and have for many years.

There really are Three main levels of Consumers,

Business 2 Business

Business 2 Consumer

Consumer 2 Consumer

The WSO, (Warrior Special Offer, I believe is primarily a B2B environment, but some are B2C, I believe that over all you could build your sales approach as a B2B offer and loose nothing.

However if you design your sales flow poorly, and you do it as a B2C with multiple up-sells down-sells, sideways sells, require opting into to a list to get a product, require phone numbers, and then require that the buyer jump through hoops to get what they were hoping they would actually receive then you do yourself no good and you could find that you might be loosing more money over a longer term than you would if you try to get it all at once time.

I really dislike people who are not tolerant of what someone thinks or feels, it serves no real purpose and does not help at all, on the other hand if you take the time to read through this thread there is some really great feedback from buyers.

(Lets face it, without buyers, sellers are worthless)

You must have a buyer before you can have a transaction and if you come in here and you trash out buyers, what do you think they will do the next time they have a choice of choosing between one of your products and a product from a more considerate seller?

Treat people as you would like to be treated and you will be successful, simple as that.

Thanks for posting this. I'd begun wondering if the extra/spammy emails were just my imagination.

Now I'm nodding in dismay and agreement.

Every day, I look at my incoming emails and wonder who some of these people are. I've actually started using different first names so I can tell who's selling my info to whom.

I never want to leave a list related to a product I've bought (and may need the free update for), but I'm close to leaving almost all IM-related lists. The time I spend going through junk emails... it's not worth it.

The number of Warriors I still trust can be counted on one hand.

The sad thing is, so many Warriors started out great and had a sterling level of integrity. I recommended them to others, with unabashed enthusiasm.

Now, I click on links in their emails and I have to click three or four, "Yes, I really want to leave this page" buttons just to close that tab.

    Ick.

I understand that times are tough. I didn't need the IMF to tell me that! *chuckle and sigh*

However, desperation is unattractive. It also belies all claims that the person is making 5+ figures/month from his (or her) IM business.

I could be wrong, but it seems to me that no one who's earning $50k/month needs to stoop to questionable and outright illegal practices.

Selling my email address to others, or harassing me with spammy offers... that's the shortest route to losing my trust.

I'm close to quitting the Warrior Forum altogether.

Anything I really need to know... well, I'll hear about it from the three or four people whose emails I'll continue to read.

And, on the rare occasions when I buy something, I'll use a unique, fake name to filter & auto-delete every email sent to me (after the download) so I'm not bothered with spam from the seller and everyone he (or she) sells my email address to.

In other words: Like you, I'm irked.

I want to believe the best of the people I've met here in the Warrior Forum. I want to continue to freely share things I discover that may help others. I want to find cool products to review & recommend, so others know who to trust.

However, I'm weighing the pros & cons of this community, and I'm close to taking the WF off my bookmarks.

Sometimes it feels that way and I dont blame you but there are a lot of good people here, I have also noticed that I am being marketed to by (marketers that I dont even know never signed up to any kind of email from them, and I traced it back to a WSO seller) that really makes me angry, hopefully action will be taken to reduce this kind of abuse, in the future, )

*nod* There are wonderful people at the Warrior Forum. In fact, I'd say that the majority of people here are truly good, caring and considerate.

Most of the problems come from unethical sellers.

But, there are also rumblings at (and about) the War Room, where helpful posts -- selling absolutely nothing but offering the kind of free resources I appreciate -- are being deleted or never approved in the first place.

Things seem to be changing -- not just here, but in the IM community, in general -- and not for the better.

I really do like most of the people I meet here. However, the (admittedly few) bad apples are making it less fun to participate, and that's pushing people like me to carefully consider if time is well-spent here.
