Try Not to Get Scammed Warriors

Every now and then you run across a thread on the forum of people complaining about a scam. Maybe a WSO wasn't what it was supposed to be, wasn't delivered or the wannabe "Guru" took off and disappeared with your money.
There was recently a thread on this very topic and I read it with interest. It seems that the guru took money for a WSO and promised it would be donated to a charity.
When the buyers received the WSO it was not as they expected. No support and old rehashed material. So they began a thread to complain. Then the Warrior offering the WSO disappeared and then reappeared claiming he was in the hospital, and unable to reply.
It's very easy to avoid these kinds of soap operas.
1. Google the persons name
2. Locate their other web sites.
3. Run a whois to find the registered owner of the Domain
4. If it's registered under a corp name check with the Secretary of States office to see if it's a valid corporation or just made up.
5. Check with the City Business License Dept to see if they are licensed.
These are really quick and simple steps to can take to either verify a person offering a WSO or if you have already been scammed you can use these steps to get the scammer investigated and shut down.
Of course if you are the victim of an online scam you can hire a private investigator that is experienced in locating and identifying people from anonymous email accounts and web sites.
