WordPress for beginners is a subject which must be presented with basic concepts concerning this most popular of content management systems. we began our journey and 2006 and seven years later, Wordpress has changed much but one thing which hasn't is an easy user interface. If just beginning, don't let such a lofty term such as content management system frighten you. Essentially, Wordpress is a website builder which offers robust, on-site content management in such areas as ( but not limited to):
  • Articles and posts
  • website pages
  • e-mail marketing integration
  • plug-in implementation
  • multimedia uploads
  • customization of individual posts and pages
and too many more content related areas to cover in such a small space. Of course, you arrived here looking for advice on where to begin.

It doesn't escape our notice that both those looking to launch free blogs @ WordPress.com, as well as those interested in custom hosted solutions at WordPress.org, are looking for the same information. Although there are a few differences between these two platforms largely, they are the same!

WordPress.org may be viewed as more appropriate for those hoping to launch a serious online business, must be considered before WordPress.com. Free blogs, while relative to beginning an online marketing venture, are not and will not be taken as seriously as the WordPress platform at.org.

Whether free blog or custom, the tools needed to begin are relatively the same:
  • On-site content such as blog posts and pages on your selected topic
  • Decision on what to you name your blog - Hint: it is most effective to choose a keyword related to your industry as opposed to any other naming source
  • Wordpress Video Tutorialsspecifically geared towards set up
  • selection of 10 to 15 keywords which will be used to optimize your blog to generate as much traffic as possible
  • Last but not least - determination to succeed!
From time to time, we receive questions as to whether one should begin with a free or paid solution. Of course, we would never recommend a free blog for one reason - if an entrepreneur's will to succeed is strong enough, there is little doubt at some point, you will monetize the website.

Paid solutions are cheap enough to take at least a year (average custom hosting length) and test your idea and most importantly, be taken seriously with a custom domain. Many start with free blogs, become successful and then must deal with the headache of migrating to a paid solution. Why not spend a few bucks, believe in yourself enough to know success is imminent and launch the right way?

Above all things - beginners must know that sticking to your ultimate goal will yield success. We are realists and not cheerleaders attempting to miss guide for our own purposes. Most reading this will have worked very hard for others and on some level, became successful (as an employee anyway).

If you became successful working for someone else, is it so hard to believe such 'back breaking' would be rewarded if dedicated to your goals and dreams?

As pursuing this dream goes, there is no better tool to begin with than Wordpress! However, the biggest decision before isn't whether to make the attempt or how such an attempt should go forth rather, taking the time to begin your project the RIGHT WAY!
