Yahoo Contributor Network

Posted 10th July 2014 at 06:07 AM by imarkedy

Recently, Yahoo Inc. announced the end of their Yahoo Contributor Network. Unlike most, I am not sad to see it go. Before ‘going there’, I’d like to encourage power bloggers to be aware of this great ‘content dumpster diving’ opportunity. As with physical diving of this sort, Yahoo is throwing away perhaps tens of thousands of articles. Although for writers in the network, this is a loss, for savvy marketers, there are free articles available to repost but make sure the writer knows you’ll...

The Federal Government

Posted 3rd July 2014 at 07:49 AM by imarkedy

The federal government and Wikipedia have partnered in what is called a ‘reinventing government’ initiative. I will try and keep this post free of political statements and suppress my personal beliefs as much as possible but there are things which need to be said. Back then, there was still an abundant amount of keyword specific real estate (profiles) available. For the savvy marketer, this meant interjecting sales messaging into Twitter...

Online E-learning with Coursmos

Posted 28th June 2014 at 10:25 AM by imarkedy

Continuing the series on Internet based tutoring; we now review online e-learning with Coursmos. Coursmos offers learning videos in what they call ‘bite size pieces’. For those unfamiliar with the term, it means each lesson, although total length may be 10 minutes are more, is broken down into several segments which supposedly results in higher retention rates. This is hardly a new concept as most online learning platforms practice this. Since Coursmos is relatively new, I would venture...
